I was wondering for formal night, Do you wear your formal all night long? I am not sure how this all works this is our first cruise and I am soooo excited. Is there like two different times one at 6:30 for early dining and one at 8:30 or does everyone go together. What do you do after formal night? All dressed up and no where to go;) afterwards? We leave on Sunday we are going on the Star Princess. Thank you for your help!!

Most who wear formal attire do continue to wear it for their evening activities such as going to the theater, going to the casino, lounges, dancing, strolling around the ship, posing for photos, whatever.

Some people find formal clothing very uncomfortable and can't wait to change into something more casual, but most of the passengers will be quite dressed up in the various ship venues on formal night, so if you change immediately after dinner, you might feel awkward.

It is my belief that "formal night" refers to the entire evening while you are still circulating around the ship.

Be advised that this is the type of question that stirs up lots of controversy, so get ready for the broad diversity of opinions about what to wear after dinner on formal night.

I mean if you listen to the rules, it really is only required for the dining room. Like the above poster said, I guess for the late nite fun it is a matter of what you want to be in, but I can see a lot of people wanting to keep it on--it was probably expensive and they probably look attractive in it, so why not keep it on?! But there are always some people who happen to hate dressing up. I for one LOVE my two new dresses and will be wearing them to any shows or to the bars or disco after formal nite.

You're cruising on Princess lines, you might want to check in on their board regarding their rules for evening dress. Each line has different rules on dress.

On Celebrity, dress code is to be observed in all public areas of the ship (except for the casual dining boulevard) throughout the evening.
