eastoftheboston Posted June 13, 2018 #28 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Thank you! My husband was beside himself and I know he would not have handled it as well lol I was just going to say, perhaps your Marine husband should have had a few words with him! I too want to say I'm sorry you had to endure this painful experience on your vacation. Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me at all that something like this happens in today's world. JFontaine Posted June 14, 2018 #30 Share Posted June 14, 2018 I’m sorry that you experienced this, and am grateful to the other cruisers who came to your aid. I agree with you that their courage/action is the good story here. He’s a nothing.

traveler301 Posted June 15, 2018 #34 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Sorry to hear , unfortunately ignorant, racist people are everywhere , Good that RC reacted fast and handle it , there should be zero tolerance for such behavior , Good to hear about the other people happy to hear you enjoyed your cruise. MKPollitt Posted June 16, 2018 #35 Share Posted June 16, 2018 What disgusting behavior from that man. I'm so sorry that you have to ever deal with that moronic mentality. Thankful that the people around you and RCI handled it so well for you. Thanks for your review of the Oasis. We are on it in 29 days...... Not that I'm counting or anything ;)
MyNameIsGermy Posted June 17, 2018 #36 Share Posted June 17, 2018 The Incident:I had a small snafu with our onboard account, nothing major, but I did have to go to guest services. Not that it should matter, but I am Muslim and wear a hijab. While standing at guest services, I had one of my daughters (the oldest) with me, and we were talking amongst ourselves. There was a tap on my shoulder and I turned around and there was a big tall man who said, "You terrorists need to get the **** out of here, they shouldn't have let you on the boat!" I was absolutely flabbergasted. He then launched into a complete racist tirade laden with expletives with my 9 year old daughter standing right there. She started crying because she was absolutely terrified. Luckily, the staff at the desk immediately called security because he was starting to act more aggressive. Other passengers also tried to shoo him away, and one very nice lady actually started talking to my daughter and tried distracting her from the obnoxious passenger. Eventually he was escorted away and I didn't see him after that. I am so sorry that you and your family were subjected to this kind of behavior. -germ
QueenofKrakatoa Posted August 30, 2018 #37 Share Posted August 30, 2018 A little late to the party here (looking for Oasis reviews since we're going in Dec) but WOW! I'm so sorry you had to put up with that. I thank your husband for his service.
hunan6 Posted August 30, 2018 #38 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Just want to send some further support. The irony of your husband having served to protect the liberty of this buffoon to treat you this way. I am also struck by the irony of this person judging you, when you were a model of humility and peacefulness about it. How sad that this happened to you. I am a teacher, and this makes me glad I get to go in and try to open the minds of young people as a way of combatting this sort of ignorance. I will share this story with my students and discuss it. Thanks for sharing.
CP3o Posted August 30, 2018 #39 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Very sorry for the way you have been treated. Fear mongering and bullying at the highest levels nowadays incites discrimination of religious freedoms. https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-us-canada-45340275 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
