Do Slot Machines Accept Cash?

Oh course they accept cash! But you can put credit on your room account also and use it on the slots. If you have OBC you can use that for anything in the casino, but it will be in promo mode and must be used for gambling (winnings will be paid in real cash).

Check with the casino cage for all your options.

Good Luck!

No concerns. Yes, they accept cash and generally keep it! :)

Correct.....Celebrity casino's are a black hole...

Celebrity's slot machines work about the same as a paper shredder. :')

I'm willing to put a few dollars in to the machine to shred, but only cash, and once I've shredded my allotment, I'm done.:) Needless to say, I never qualify for any casino perks.

We're the same. At most we'll drop $20 each.

So as a newbie to cruise slots (I've played a little at a casino, VERY little), let me ask this: Do you have to insert your cruise card to play? If I bring cash, do I still need to insert my cruise card? I can limit myself a lot easier if I am able to just use cash (which is not what a cruise line wants I know!). I don't think I am disciplined enough to just insert my card and play..fearing I will rack up quite a debt. :(

I always use cash in the slots and never have used my card. I have a certain amount of money I an wiling tol donate to the slot machines and once that's gone then I'm done for a period of time. There have been a few occasions where I have walked out ahead, but never by much because I am never willing to lose too much.

Hope that helps

You do not have to put your card in the machine, when you do its just a counting machine to determine any comps you might receive. Some people think the card is linked to whether you win or lose but that is one of the many myths of slot machines. In most jurisdictions it is strictly illegal for the affinity card to have anything to do with your chances of winning. Slots on cruise ships follow the same rules as on land. If you play a lot, put your card in you might win a t-shirt or a cruise.

Why would you think they follow the "same rules" as on land. Consider that in most land jurisdictions there is strict regulation by a government Casino Commission which even specifies the minimum payback by slots. On cruise ships there is no true regulation and the casinos can do as they please. While payback can be as good as on land, they could also be set for very low percentage paybacks. In theory as ship slot machine could be designed to payback zero...and it would not be in violation of any law.

Here's a link to the regulatory organization that the cruise lines have agree to abide by.

As far as I know, never heard anyone complain that they don't follow the same rules as in Nevada or Jersey as per CLIA rules.
