FreesiaE Posted June 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Can I play the slots with cash, or does it all somehow filter back to my onboard account?
cobeck Posted June 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2018 We don’t play often but always use cash. Your seapass card can track your play if you insert it.
TN Vol Fan Posted June 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Oh course they accept cash! But you can put credit on your room account also and use it on the slots. If you have OBC you can use that for anything in the casino, but it will be in promo mode and must be used for gambling (winnings will be paid in real cash). Check with the casino cage for all your options. Good Luck!

H2Oregon Posted June 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2018 bills or coins? What denomination?Bills. Haven't seen a slot that takes coins in a long time. You lose your money too slow if you have to put coins in the machine. Sent from my SM-G930T using Forums mobile app

Debbdo Posted June 24, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 24, 2018 So as a newbie to cruise slots (I've played a little at a casino, VERY little), let me ask this: Do you have to insert your cruise card to play? If I bring cash, do I still need to insert my cruise card? I can limit myself a lot easier if I am able to just use cash (which is not what a cruise line wants I know!). I don't think I am disciplined enough to just insert my card and play..fearing I will rack up quite a debt. :(
ambrtonj Posted June 24, 2018 #17 Share Posted June 24, 2018 I always use cash in the slots and never have used my card. I have a certain amount of money I an wiling tol donate to the slot machines and once that's gone then I'm done for a period of time. There have been a few occasions where I have walked out ahead, but never by much because I am never willing to lose too much. Hope that helps

Some people think the card is linked to whether you win or lose but that is one of the many myths of slot machines. In most jurisdictions it is strictly illegal for the affinity card to have anything to do with your chances of winning. Slots on cruise ships follow the same rules as on land. If you play a lot, put your card in you might win a t-shirt or a cruise.

If you play a lot, put your card in you might win a t-shirt or a cruise. Why would you think they follow the "same rules" as on land. Consider that in most land jurisdictions there is strict regulation by a government Casino Commission which even specifies the minimum payback by slots. On cruise ships there is no true regulation and the casinos can do as they please. While payback can be as good as on land, they could also be set for very low percentage paybacks. In theory as ship slot machine could be designed to payback zero...and it would not be in violation of any law. Hank

Hank Here's a link to the regulatory organization that the cruise lines have agree to abide by. https://www.cruising.org/about-the-industry/regulatory/industry-policies/other/gambling As far as I know, never heard anyone complain that they don't follow the same rules as in Nevada or Jersey as per CLIA rules. Redtravel Posted July 4, 2018 #22 Share Posted July 4, 2018 Skip slots. Celebrity slots are too tight. They seldom let you win. Gone are the days of big wins in a ship casino. When you enter the casino stop and listen. If people are playing slots and it is quiet, leave.
