Red Raider Girl Posted June 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2018 I like to make my own iced tea by bringing my own tea bags. I need access to a lot of ice. We normally cruise Disney where the drink stations are outside available to everyone- super easy to walk up, get a tea bag, hot water, and make my own tea by dumping hot tea into ice. Liberty will not have Twinings sitting around so I am bringing my own. Now to access hot water and ice- easily. Any idea?

sailing bears Posted June 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Ask your room steward to bring ice. We ask ours to bring it morning and evening. If you need it more than that any of the complimentary food venues will have ice available that you can retrieve yourself.
HicksRA Posted June 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Electric Tea kettles are available in JS and above. If you’re in a lesser cabin, ask your room steward for one.
Tee & Chilli Posted June 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Freestyle machines if Liberty has them. It’s been years since I’ve sailed Liberty and cannot recall.

My wife and I are sitting here trying to remember any cruise ship that we have been on since 2001 that didn't have a beverage station where coffee, milk, hot water, ice water and an ice machine were available. bosco

Thank you. I was afraid of this. I will go with asking the room steward to keep the ice coming.
really11 Posted June 19, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 19, 2018 We always bring a cheap soft side (one you might get free ) cooler and ask the room attendent to fill it every day. Morning and night...That might work for you.
really11 Posted June 19, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Sorry...we keep it in the shower unless we need the shower...Put bottles of water and or a beer or two...some wine if need be. Just put it in the sink during our showers.

IIRC, though, on LIB they just have dispensers of water, and lemonade at Promenade. no fountain type machines.

39august Posted June 19, 2018 #15 Share Posted June 19, 2018 The collapsible cooler works very well as cited above. Your room steward will be happy to fill it twice a day. That should hold a lot more ice than the cabin ice buckets.
mareed Posted June 19, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 19, 2018 But no self-service ice, unless there is a Freestyle machine. Liberty had an ice machine in the Promenade Cafe as of last July 2017. Don't know about any other ships or Liberty since then!

Hypo Posted June 26, 2018 #18 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Just ask your favorite bartender at your favorite bar. They are usually accommodating, especially if you have been tipping them extra:D
Rare island lady Posted June 26, 2018 #19 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I always let my cabin attendant know that I need my ice bucket filled at all time, which they have almost always done without fail twice a day. One even made sure I had two buckets filled at all times, to be sure I never ran out. :D
