Rare calicakes Posted June 20, 2018 #26 Share Posted June 20, 2018 My neighbors are big fans of Celebrity....but they are older than me by 10 years, mid 60's or so...they say they are most of the time the younger folks on the ship. They like everything old school...same waiter, same time, same place for EVERY meal they eat. I think choices are good....but we have talked about cruising together, and I think their style would drive me crazy, just like mine would them. When I cruised X, I was late 40's. I was not the youngest on the ship. I will say that the getaway had better entertainment and more things to do than the X ships I sailed on. However, I did not use the ropes course or the water slides. The Atrium situation turned me off. I actually got into a verbal argument with a woman over me saving a seat. I personally liked the service and staff much better on X. They seemed happier to me.

I have sailed the Getaway and the Escape....my Wife and I enjoyed the Escape MUCH better, not sure why...better service is what we think..and the District, good entertainment there...H20 out back was enjoyed on both cruises...like I said, choices are good. I am not against a Celebrity Cruise, per say, just seems like more rules...maybe it's my neighbors, and having to eat at the same place over and over....I couldn't do that. lindseylu8 Posted June 20, 2018 #28 Share Posted June 20, 2018 I don't think it's entitled as much as it is conditioned. The casinos, with their effort to lure and retain the best gamblers, have conditioned those gamblers to expect perks. I am not a gambler, but, I suspect the perks are a very important part of the reason high rollers are there. totally agree
