Can you uber Anchorage to Whittier

Is uber/lyft an option for travel to Whittier? If so, any idea on cost?

As someone said, it's an hour and a half, and, the tunnel, so, I'm not even sure if you would find someone that would do it, as the odds, of getting a return trip are pretty slim, since, Whittier is so isolated!

Susan in Anchorage:)

any updates on this? I need to go from Whittier to the anc airport to catch a 10:50 flight to King Salmon.

Are you arriving by cruise ship?  If so, what is the earliest time their ship to airport transfer arrives at the airport?

The problem with Uber would be to get someone to actually agree to do it, as the round trip could be up to four hours for them to come to Whittier from Anchorage.  And even if someone agrees to do it, they may bail on you if they get a better offer.  However, if you really want to make that flight you are going to have to make some kind of private transportation arrangements, which are going to be expensive.  You might consider trying to change your flight instead.

the other wrinkle is that you must go thru a tunnel as you leave Whittier.  It's only open once an hr in each direction since it's shared with a train. Leaving Whittier, it's open on the hour.

The Avis rental car opens at 8am but there's no way you could be in and out of there in 5 minutes, then line up in the staging area. I think it's only open for 15 minutes.    But if you made the 8am opening you would be at the airport by 9:30/9:45.

The Whittier Chamber of Commerce has a transportation listing.  Call the Bear Valley Road Runner .....

Maybe you could find others on your Roll Call who want to be at the airport early .....
