cruisemein Posted July 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Received an email about an hour ago from Carnival's Players Club for a free balcony cabin, last time I received this offer only 2 sailings to pick from. This one there were about 15 or so. Jumped on a New Years cruise out of Galveston, grabbed 1 of the last 2 balconies available. Only paid port fees, taxes, etc. We are already booked on the Horizon in Oct. on an Ultra cruise but had to pay considerably more, oh well, just glad this came along and was able to book it. Bhern05 Posted July 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Got the email but since we're going on the Ultra on Horizon and kids will be back in school during those times I don't think it'll work for us :(
Lottacruises Posted July 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2018 No offer here. The Galveston trip over New year's sound like fun!

Djptcp Posted July 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2018 I received an email upgrade offer today for our Premier casino cruise, but it wasn't free - upgrade to a balcony for $462! After 33 Carnival cruises and having done many Premier cruises, I would expect a cheaper upgrade. Not interested in a balcony at all at any price as we already have an ocean view booked on the Paradise and the balcony cabins on that ship are nothing more than previous ocean view cabins with a balcony added. An upgrade to a jr.suite I would have taken as those cabins have a couch and coffee table, the balcony cabins don't.
samiam0403 Posted July 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2018 I got this email this morning, thinking it was a normal Premier offer. I called about the 25 Nov sailing on Horizon, and was initially told it was all booked up. The agent put me on hold, then came back a few minutes later very excitedly telling me it was an Elite sailing and I could choose from a balcony on 3 different decks. I got a great balcony cabin for port fees and taxes, and am now sailing on my first ever Elite! I'm SO EXCITED!

L_K Posted July 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Dont want to be rude but how many points does it takes to qualifu for Elite ? I cruise twice a year with an average of 7500-8000 points on each cruise and omly got one Premier over the years.

I cruise twice a year with an average of 7500-8000 points on each cruise and omly got one Premier over the years. Not rude at all! I wish I had an answer for you, but I have no idea. After ~20 cruises with Carnival (where I normally got around 5000 points average, with one cruise at 8,000 points), I took a break from sailing them from 2014 to 2017. We sailed a normal 3-day cruise in August 2017 (don't remember how many points, but not anything crazy). We then booked a Premier Getaway (5 days - our first and only Premier) in September 2017, where I earned about 7,500 points. I was only hoping maybe for an Ultra someday. I wish I had some advice or insight, but I have absolutely no idea how I got it. None. :oMaybe someone else who knows will chime in?
Tjcalley Posted July 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2018 I wonder if you only get upgrade offers if you play in the casino? I don’t and I’ve never received an offer
Tjcalley Posted July 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2018 So it turns out my husband has been getting the upgrade offers and not saying anything! He did play in the casino on our last cruise.
Quilcruisers Posted July 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2018 My mom got a casino offer yesterday that came to my email. She plays in the casino but I handle all of the bookings and things for our cruises. I need to look again, I looked at thanksgiving day and didn’t see anything so didn’t look further. So this was free Premier cabin? If so, you can use Premier offers for any available Premier sailings. Last time I got a free Premier offer, I booked four sailings out of 12 available since that is all the vacation time I had available.
Ready2Cruise1976 Posted July 12, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 12, 2018 We must not be "high rollers" LOL. The only free cabin offer we've ever received was for an inside on a 5 day cruise during hurricane season last year. My husband always earns the free drinks by the 2nd day, we've received fruit and wine deliveries to our rooms, a couple of excursion credits but never a really awesome deal on a cabin. Planning on going on the 8 day southern Caribbean on the Sunshine in January. Would be awesome to have a balcony on that one with 4 sea days but can't justify the extra expense. It's nearly double the Oceanview for one person and that's using the PTF rate.
cmichael1279 Posted August 3, 2018 #16 Share Posted August 3, 2018 Just booked this offer on the Horizon for October 14th. Can't beat a free balcony!
cruisemein Posted August 3, 2018 Author #17 Share Posted August 3, 2018 Great Deal! Immediately after I posted this back in July, started thinking, why not cancel my Oct. 6 cruise on Horizon, which was an Ultra cruise, but not much of a discount and book through the casino for a free balcony on the Horizon for the premier cruise on Oct. 20 for an 8 day southern caribbean cruise. Did it that day, so now, a free balcony in Oct. and another one over New Years...what a country!!

bsp Posted August 3, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 3, 2018 What are Premier cruises????? I'm wondering the same thing. We play in the slots on my husband's card only. We don't spend a whole lot, but he gets emails for some casino discounts (they are a bit cheaper). We are booked on 5 night Elation 2/2019 and I received an email a month or so ago that we could upgrade to a balcony for like $400/piece. Heck, that's about all we paid for the whole cruise. Happy Cruising

rls1970 Posted August 7, 2018 #22 Share Posted August 7, 2018 I got the same email, but just today (I'm further down the food chain :) Just curious, what makes it a Premier Plus? I've done regular Premiers before, and have a couple booked, but nothing "Plus". Is this just an indication there will be extra drawings or theme nights perhaps? Booked the last balcony on the Conquest for the week after Thanksgiving! Thanks in advance for any extra info. I was so excited I forgot to ask when I was on the phone ;)
cruisemein Posted August 7, 2018 Author #23 Share Posted August 7, 2018 I was told that a premier plus means that they only have 50 cabins to give away, meaning approximately 100+ premier guests as opposed to the normal 300+ premier guests. I know the last premier cruise we took there were 350 premier guests on board. The fewer guests, the better chance of winning a raffle, prize, etc. At least this is what I was told when I booked my cabin. These numbers may vary depending on the ship, but I was told this as it related to the Horizon, sailing date Oct. 20.
cmichael1279 Posted October 6, 2018 #24 Share Posted October 6, 2018 Anyone back from one of these "Premier Plus" cruises yet? Curious if there's any difference from the Premier, aside from the number of invited Premier guests?
