Carnival 3rd green zero on roulette wheel?

Guess I'm just a sucker.  I know I'm just a lightweight when it comes to Roulette.  And I don't gamble on land - no casinos near me and I"m not going to use my travel budget to go somewhere to lose more money!

 

But I love the greens!  I rarely play any numbers straight up (usually splits and corners) but always play the 0-00 split and like I said earlier, I love the black/odd/0 outside bet that started showing up a few years ago.  Did really well on Sunshine a couple of years ago playing that.  Sailing her again in October and hope I have the same luck!

 

Tried the electronic Roulette (real wheel but everything else electronic) on the two MSC cruises I just did (December on Divina and May on Armonia).  Hated it.  So boring!

This quote is post #12. Can someone show me the bashing posts in the first 11 posts? The OP asked a question and stated that they wouldn’t be happy about it if true. Other than that I can’t  see any bashing against Carnival. But of course others have seen a post calling out bashers and jumped right on it. Amazing isn’t it?

I'm not a gambler and I don't play Roulette, but I do understand math and I'm now very curious.  Can someone explain why the extra "B" slot changes the game so drastically?  I believe one gentleman said he'd get off the ship if there was an extra green slot.  I'd love to be educated if someone was willing to take a few moments to write the explanation.  Thanks in advance!

You don't have to be negative to be a critic. Some people just jump in with negative comments without adding anything to the discussion and then hid behind the "critic" label. Here is a quote from a critic who explains what a critic is:

On a table with two zeros, the house edge is 5.26%. That’s one of the highest house advantages in the casino.

On a triple zero roulette table, the house edge jumps up to 7.69%.

Exactly.  Roulette by design has a single zero.  You can find them.  Anything else is a sucker table.  Even one zero is a large house edge.  Two silly edge. Three just stupid.  Play craps and hopefully they have 100X odds behind the line.....curious.....What is the behind the line max in craps on Carnival.

In the past I enjoyed gambling, either on land or at sea.  Usually lost but had fun because felt I had a decent chance of breaking even at least.  About ten years ago things seemed to change.  I was just getting screwed with little hope of winning or breaking even.  Threw much money away hoping it was just bad luck.  Finally figured out I was just a sucker getting screwed.

Like I mentioned before, while it changes traditional roulette, the triple zero wheel did add a green street bet (any green/zero) that pays 13:1 with 3 out of 39 odds for 0 house advantage. 0 house advantage bets are very rare in a casino.

3x on the Magic right now, it's a premier/elite cruise so I've only seen double zero but they changed the layout of several games before they opened the casino so it could be different for other sailings that aren't catering to high volumes of serious degenerates.

Yup... Casino's are not staying open because they are giving money away, that's for sure.  I have a friend that doesn't even bother to put the coins into the machines... instead, he just opens the Casino's front doors and throws in a roll of quarters and walks away, knowing that he lost no more that $10...  😂😂🤣

How's going from $200 to $10,000 at blackjack playing one on one with the dealer through about 3-4 shoes compare? I can't imagine where I would have ended up if I had actually been pressing my luck (was pretty much flat betting).

 

So... Carnival has totally done away with 3/2 blackjack payouts? Is that even at the higher limit tables? Haven't sailed with them in a couple of years.

I was reading in the other forum that some of the $25/hand tables were still 3/2.  I leave in a week on the Breeze.....I'll report back what I see!

The cruise lines and casinos have made it their mission to lure people back in with offers to keep gambling. The prize of a free cruise will do this most of the time and people thinking they got something for nothing. As we all know if you play long enough the house always wins! And the house keeps winning so long as they pack serous  gamblers on the cruises. 

 

With the the extra green spot - again if people continue to play which I assume they will then they will continue to throw the odds their way and get the money. Carnival stock is down over 25% for the year - so they need to make it up somewhere!
