You know, if the U.S. government really wanted to vaccinate Americans as fast as possible, all they’d have to do is train FedEx and UPS drivers how to administer injections.  The entire country would be vaccinated by Monday.  Or, by Friday for those that have Amazon Prime.

Great idea Stumble.

I volunteered to administer the vaccine where I live. I am an advanced practice nurse and need no training to give injections.

But no one has called me. What

I have learned is that there is no infrastructure in place to carry out the plan in my state.

I have volunteered to come out of retirement as a volunteer to administer the vaccine. However, the bureaucracy are not interested in my degree, post-graduate degrees or 30 years in practice. Oh no. I have to go through the same 'training' as any non-medical applicant. That involves completing certified courses on topics as relevant as Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, Preventing Radicalisation etc.

What a farce. I did it because I really want to help. Others have looked at the requirements and thought "Sod that for a game of soldiers" and given up on their application.

And guess what the pay will be? £10 an hour. It's not as if they will be trampled under the rush of those seeking to get rich quick!

I can't hit the "like" to your post spins.  I understand the frustration though!  Infrastructure is lacking here as well.  Lots of lovely talk about how this will roll out and, at the moment,  it is just talk.  Priority was to vaccinate front line workers and long term care residents first.  Well, they started with the front line care folks and not the long term care folks.  Outbreaks in the long term care are resulting in deaths.  Bass-ackward to my mind!  Myster and I will probably not get our turn until September.

That is ludicrous TTS!  The inmates seem to be running the asylums!

We would volunteer also, but I agree, FL is a mess.  We are on a wait list now for the vaccine.

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

Our thoughts are with our neighbours to the south.  I penned these words with you in mind.......

Arms of Comfort

Take a step out of the darkness

Into strong arms that await

Take a step toward the light

And away for all that hate.

It may seem that dark despair

Haunts your every hour

But life is full of changes

It swings from sweet to sour.

The universe works in contrasts

And in fact so do our lives

To balance walking on cloud nine

We must walk on blades of knives.

Without hate there is no love

Without hot, no cold

Without rich there is no poor

Without shy, no bold.

Without despair there is no joy

Without pain, no bliss

Without birth there is no death

Without lows, the highs we’d miss.

What you feel now will soon change

Just as tides do cycle through

Know that you are not alone

Step into arms of comfort true.
