Silversea Water Cooler: Welcome! Part Five

We drink flavored seltzer water, with a squeeze of lemon or lime. Or sometimes Pellegrino. I will rarely have a ginger beer (Fever Tree makes a nice one) but I don't like most sugary drinks.

Chris makes iced tea all summer which is very tasty. Just plain tea and water; no sweetener at all. We try to get interesting flavors so we can mix it up. Our current favorite is blackberry-sage. Even if a tin of 50 tea bags is expensive, two bags make a large pitcher, and it gets plenty strong if you steep it for a few hours. So a container of tea bags lasts a long time. And when it goes on sale, stock up.

Try true lime or true lemon packets.

Add to seltzer water.

No sugar or aspartame or saccharine or sucralose or artificial preservatives. Or other chemicals.

Safe for diabetics.

There are other flavors.

I buy in bulk.

Go to true citrus online.

Hi Spins, this sounds interesting. I may have to try it.

I need a recommendation for Bob.  He consumes lots of fluids every day but recently has tired of his usual diet coke or tea.  He went so far as to drink Koolaid and use the Miu drops in water but has not found anything that pleases him.  He still has his sense of taste and smell, so no worries there.  Also, he had staples removed on Friday and is seeing some improvement in his hand which was not expected to happen.

All non-alcoholic recommendations will be appreciated.  We have the “fun” adult beverages under control!

Forgot to mention that true orange and true grapefruit and lime and lemon  plus seasonings are on Amazon less expensive than the true citrus site.

Quick word of warning following on from a couple of posts ago where, amongst other things, grapefruit juice was suggested for Bob.

Please check his medication notes first as there are a few commonly prescribed meds where grapefruit juice should be avoided.

Thanks for the reminder about grapefruit juice.  Bob is one of those rare 70+ year olds who takes no medication!

Thank you everyone for your great suggestions for Bob.  We will work through them and see if anything pleases him.  We are thinking that one of the reasons his sense of taste has changed so much is that he took so many meds and antibiotics post surgery.  He walked almost 2 miles today with no pain!  Yippee!

YES, agree that you need to be careful and double-check with a medical professional as to whether or not grapefruit juice will "MIX" with your meds.   It is amazing that "Bob is one of those rare 70+ year olds who takes no medication!"

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Beautiful sunny day here in Central.  Got great and needed rain yesterday.  Perfect, cool, comfortable fall weather right now.

For those in UK, etc., who do not know Jack Benny, he was famous from his radio and TV shows and days for being a tightwad and a "Penny-Pincher".  Also, he was always claiming up into his ages of the 60's and 70's for only being 39 years old.  The old joke/saying was how many times have you celebrated your 39th birthday??

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Our electric was off for 3.5 hours this morning. Claimed for "maintenance"??!!  Now back up with the juice.  Below are a couple of comedy classics.  One related to aging.   The other about types of food.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio
