vamartha Posted August 9, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 9, 2018 That will be a Journeys Cruise and you won't have much of a drunk party cruise clientele on that particular one. We took a similar cruise back in late 2015. Journeys cruises bring out the best of the best of Carnival cruisers. Mostly older, few children. You will have a few extras too. Midnight Buffet just like yesteryear is one of the big ones - worth going to just for the eye candy, but there will be an extra "elegant or not" night to meet the Captain and a few more extra touches that don't happen on ordinary cruises. AND that cruise goes to Aruba! Another huge plus!
MommytoAsquared Posted August 9, 2018 #27 Share Posted August 9, 2018 It's funny how each cruise line has a "reputation" for cruisers. Last week, we were on the Carnival Legend to Alaska. Maybe it was just the itinerary, but it seemed to be an older crowd. I thought to myself, "I wonder if this is what Holland America is like???" JMAE Posted August 9, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 9, 2018 With our 17th cruise coming up in October, 16 on CCL we never had a problem. If fact, our second was on the Explorer of the Seas and the crowd was much more "active" late at night on the pool deck. We had young children at the time and we just did our own thing and we had no problem. A cruise is what you make of it, so do your own thing and enjoy your time away from where you call home. Joebucks Posted August 9, 2018 #29 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Unfortunately, you can't trust everything you hear. Take reviews with a grain of salt. The only way you'll know if you like it, is if you try. I, too, stayed away from Carnival for years due to hearing it was a dirty boat, full of scummy, drunken passengers. It was none of those things.
Mikew0805 Posted August 9, 2018 #30 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Royal and CCL are more alike than they are different. The only class difference is there are a bunch of folks on Royal that THINK they are a class above CCL. Usually they have never sailed CCL so their opinion is irrelevant.
