Staterooms on Wind Spirit and Wind Star

We loved all the ports. We hired a local boat and spent a day on a moto. Go snorkeling at least 3 times. We did the E bikes, fun!

It was very rough seas between islands for us, 12-15 ft seas, so no one noticed engine noise.

We wished we’d booked an extended stay post cruise in Bora Bora. We made some wonderful friends. Cant wait to go back!

I see from a prior post that you were in cabin 217. This cabin is listed as "quiet" on the list that Petoonya compiled. Did you find it to be so?

 Updated list as of 12/17/18

Most are listed as noisy, quiet or very good. Started this list looking for cabins in which people specifically complained of noise, and when I added to the list "very good" when people made positive comments, not specifically related to noise. So if you've got a cabin that is "quiet" or "very good" assume that the occupants were pleased with everything.

I can't speak to cabins that are next to each other where one is listed as noisy and is sandwiched by two quiet cabins. Just comments that I've read.

New to the forum but definitely a new windstar fan! My husband and I have booked our second cruise Rome to Lisbon for next October but are struggling between the Windsurf, which we were on this past fall, or the Windstar. We are intrigued by the builtin seats and tables in the windstar cabins, but can’t seem to get a straight answer from either our TA or windstar if ALL the cabins have that setup, or just certain cabins and/or categories. We are interested in a Deck 1 cat BX cabin with the built in seats and table. Thanks!

Sail Maine,

Just got off Wind Spirit 12/14. Ahhhhhh- would love to be back. But our cabin attendant said all BX do have the built-in seats and tables.

I have to disagree with the assessment of cabin 105 on the Wind Star. It was loud and it was hot. There was a constant droning noise and vibration whenever the engine was running (and it usually was, on our Jewels of the Windward Islands cruise in 2015).

On Wind Spirit, we had cabin 122 and it was great. Nice and quiet, and no issues with getting too hot.

210 is a very convenient room.  Easy access to the stairs, water platform, and straight up to the pool deck.  It is quiet except when the engines are on.  There is a constant, engine noise.  It is very noticeable.  It is a very low HUM.  If that kind of noise does not bother you, it is a great room.

Both are great, but we really love the Windstar.  The crew,  their fantastic, jolly female Captain - all of it.  The cabins are fine - yes I think they are all as you describe bar the suites.  Very comfortable.  You will have a great time whichever you choose.  If you have already tried Windsurf and don't mind a slightly smaller ship, then why not go for Windstar.

We were on Wind Spirit last week in 231 and is was quiet and we thought convenient to areas we liked to frequent, it was a little cool the first day and would not adjust on the thermostat but after we left port it seemed to even out and would love to be back.

We just booked 118 for Aug 2022 (10-day Tahiti/Tuamotu Islands). I think I'll call and get moved; not sure I'd want the tender steps right outside the window.

Curious to know what cabin you got....I wouldn't want that one either. We had 129- it was perfect.

Last year we had someone next to us BLASTING their TV. Must have been full volume. I called the room and a man nicely responded by turning it down, but it was like he had no clue a ridiculously loud TV might be bothering the neighbors. I can't even imagine a situation in Tahiti when I would even want the TV on....

I saw some great deals on Tahiti cruises for 2021 so I moved up our sailing from Aug 2022 to Aug 2021 for a much lower price and went from a 10 to an 11 night.

We booked 106. I didn't see it on the list but 104 and 108 next door says quiet so here's hoping.....

Deb,

I got 140 which I'm not so happy with so going to keep trying for something else. I got the last B left. In all honesty I hope you try to change too. 118-139 Bs  are all good. 106 is likely just a smidge smaller and a small chance of some noise. Better safe than sorry. Mine has one report of quiet and another of noise from the bilge pump so I'm going to call every week to see if I can get in on a cancellation.

One last thing to add to the general topic. Sometimes during the day the aft staircase if closed on Deck 1, B cabins. And then you have to use a maintenance staircase forward. Happened several times on our 17 day cruise. The door to go upstairs/downstairs is at the end of the hallway (outside of cabins 137,139 and 140.) and the door slams shut loudly. No one mentioned a word of it in reviews of those cabins, so maybe it truly was not noticed. But I made a mental note to avoid those cabins. I may add a note to mention it on the cabin list.

Deb, I'm sorry, know you booked a B like me, and BX, those mid cabins, are a lot more $. 106, as you say sounds like it's probably a good choice, infact I'd choose over mine....140. But if 133, 135, 136, 138 become available, they're probably an ideal location for you..

Thanks Nancy! I gave my TA a list of four cabins in order of preference; 135 and 136 were first, then 106 and then 139. I ended up with 106.

BX is an additional $400/pp. Given the overall savings, I wonder if it’s something I should consider and move to a mid-ship or further forward location....hmmm..

I wish the Windstar Wizard was up to date! :(
