I’ve loved travelling with you via this thread.  I’m feeling sad that it’s nearly over.

We have a cruise from Broome to Cairns booked for this September/ October so I know we have something coming up, but you have given me itchy feet.

I’m starting to look at the itineraries for the next year and my husband is starting to look worried!

Thank you to all the posters of great descriptions and photos.

Thank You Mysty for taking us along on your epic voyage and all others who contributed to the posts of this lovely trip.   - I would have love to have been with you. Thank you for your pictures of Lisbon, which I know extremely well, and it was nice to see that "She"  had given you a lovely typically blue Lisbon sky!   Hope you enjoyed your Pasteis de Belem, and you managed to get a few more from the many outlets there are in Lisboa.  Additionally you enjoyed the atmospheric "noise" when traversing under the April 25th Bridge, down the Tagus, it really is quite unique.

I was waitlisted for the 2020 WC, but seemingly it has sold even better than yours!!  Only around 12 cabins left!!!!  Some very lucky people!!  I can only hope that with two ships to choose from I might be luckier in 2021!!

Enjoy your last week and hope the weather holds up for you until you reach Greenwich.  The weather prospects for your remaining journey to Greenwich appear to be very good - fingers crossed.

Kindest regards

Master Echo

Monument to Evaristo De Churraca .....Evaristo de Churruca y Brunet (Oltza, 1841-Bilbao, 1917)  was a Spanish Engineer.

A monument was erected to honour him in the town of Getxo at the mouth of the Nervion River, which he definitely straightened allowing the further developing of Bilbao's industrial power.

Tonight was the Farewell Event for the World Cruise at the Guggenheim.  It was spectacular!  Tour followed by cocktails followed by dinner.

The entertainment was a youth choir with voices of angels that soared to the heavens.  Spectacular!  Well done Silversea!

I see May 17, our second last night, is informal.  It's also the night our shipped luggage is collected by 8.00pm. My jackets will be safely packed by then.  Could I be thrown overboard for not having a jacket? It would be a history making end to WC19. 🙂

Turtlemichael.. following on JP’s comment, just wear a life “jacket” and you will be properly attired.  We had the same problem when the last night of our cruise was turned into a formal night at the last minute for some unknown reason.  Very inconvenient for the 50 of us disembarking the next morning in Lisbon.  I am sure you and Turtle 2 will look fine.  Enjoy every minute of the remainder of your wonderful adventure.

This was a decision made by Norman, you either love him or not, your choice.

Silver Spectre,

Having read your postings, most of which take another guests positive postings and add a negative spin to it ---- one cannot understand why you keep coming back to Silversea?

What a glorious photograph that second picture is, Mysty. I hope you are going to have it printed and hung somewhere? Glad you had such a good time in Bordeaux, it is a lovely city and so "doable" as well as eatable.

Beautiful! It's a really cool port.

If the tides are cooperating you can walk along a causeway out to a (sometimes) island just off the coast. But you have to pay attention otherwise you'll get caught out there and have to swim back! It's called Grande-Bé and Chateaubriand is buried there. There are also some ruins of an old fort.

I recommend a side trip to Cancale from St Malo for the freshest of fresh oysters, when you next go back. We went off on a frolic of our own on a local bus and had a magnificent lunch overlooking the oyster beds/racks and I don't particularly like the things but these were fabulous.

It’s the last day.  Getting in to Greenwich late.  Been an an excellent WC, with wonderful people and great food.  Many excellent ports and wonderful WC events.  One strange item was we had to hav our fedex luggage out last night instead of tonight. Thanks to Misty, Turtlemichael and Lifegreat for a wonderful time.  We hope to see all on a future cruise.
