Recommendations for ABC operators

Recommended Posts

We are booking a bit of a last minutes trip with southern Caribbean Stops. Any recommendations for operators for the ABC's for an experienced diver?

Curacao we love Hans at http://www.curious2dive.com/. Port pick-up and return, super dive operator. Bonaire we booked through the ship to guarantee boat dive to Klein Bonaire. The provider was Buddy Dive and it was ok, not great; next time we will just shore dive or book with VIP.

Couldn't agree more about Curacao. Hans at Curious2Dive will take great care of you. Never a large group, nitrox is available (slight upcharge), timely port pick-up and return. www.curious2dive.com

Every visit to Bonaire, I've dove with VIP diving. On first look the price will seem high for shore diving. However, by the time you're done, you will feel as if you've gotten a bargain. Port pick-up followed by a genuine consultation with you to decide what dive site you want to dive. Assuming there's not a weather or condition issue, every site on the island is open for your consideration. Nitrox is included in the price (assuming you're nitrox certified). 80 CF tanks are standard, but if you'd like 100 CF, just ask (why wouldn't you?). Lunch is provided. At the end of your day, they don't rush you back to the ship at all. You can take your time using their A-1 facilities for any gear care you may want to do, or just relaxing someplace nice. Then they return you to the pier. The only thing here, they require 100% payment in advance, and they do not refund if you no-show for any reason, including the ship missing the port. So, be aware you'd want to have some type of insurance in place, either your overall travel insurance, or something through the credit card you use to book. www.vipdiving.com

For Aruba, contact Jeffrey at Happy Divers Aruba. Very reasonable prices, and a nice, smaller boat, so no more than 6 divers in your group (usually less). This is compared to most operators in Aruba that are the definition of "cattle boat". The price includes port pick up and return, and a lot of fun. www.happydiversaruba.com
