Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2018 (edited) A few years ago I started posting my fun times on here. A year and a half ago I started posting them live. Last cruise it basically turned into a live review so I’m just going to go with that from the start this time. I’ve enjoyed reading reviews other people have posted so hopefully I can return the favor to someone. This is a 7-night, solo cruise on the Carnival Dream out of New Orleans. This is my eighth carnival cruise—sixth out of New Orleans. This will be my first time on the Dream but I was on the Breeze earlier this year so I know what to expect as far as ship layout. We will be cruising to Key West, Nassau, and Freeport. This is my first time to go to any of those ports—I’m excited about that. I’ll be posting Fun Times, Menus, Food Pics, Drink Pics, Port Pics, Big Aft pics...whatever people want. I’ll leave it here for now. I’m getting up early in the morning to head down to South Louisiana. Then on Sunday we’ll be cruising. BTW, we're the only two ships in port that day. That’s awesome! Enjoy your reviews BTW. I was looking forward to seeing Elation again. My first three cruises were on her. Haven’t seen her since she moved to Jacksonville. If you see me in Nassau say hi. I’ll stand out with the shirt I’m wearing. If you see someone in an outrageous turquoise shirt walk up and ask if they have a monkey in their pocket.
Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Hit the road at 6:30 this morning That’s Harry. He’s riding with me. Harry loves New Orleans because it’s home to his favorite dessert—Bananas Foster! Down there you can get Bananas Foster French Toast, Bananas Foster Cheesecake, Bananas Foster Bananas Foster. Harry’s favorite song? I7rCNiiNPxA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I’m very excited about this Love’s! I haven’t been here since January and they were still building it. There are no good places to stop on this stretch or interstate so I’m really happy this Love’s is finally open. Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 Author #16 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Probably the worst rest area in Louisiana. Two picnic tables and a port o Jon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 Author #17 Share Posted August 25, 2018 This is potentially the most important thing I’ll post this week. If you are coming to New Orleans from the west. I-10 or hwy 190. Billy’s Pepperjack Boudin Balls. The one I went to off of 190 is in Krox Springs. The one off of I-10 is one exit west of where I-10 and I-49 meet. On this day there were 25 people in line in front of me. And a guy in a truck blocked my car in because there was nowhere to park. Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 Author #24 Share Posted August 25, 2018 On the way down I realized I left a couple of clothing items so I stopped at the Mall of Louisiana which is right by my hotel. It’s a pretty big mall. 178 stores by my count. It’s a good place if you have some Christmas shopping to do. Rare Saint Greg Posted August 25, 2018 Author #25 Share Posted August 25, 2018 This is a taste from New Orleans. District Donuts from the Garden District opened up a Baton Rouge location last summer. Cheeseburger slider, jalapeño cheese waffle fries, and a blueberry soda This place has ridiculous donuts and normally if I come for lunch I will get a donut to go for later. But I just didn’t see anything I really wanted today. Here are yesterday’s donuts. Now I would’ve done rocky road or candy bar yesterday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
