SRF Posted August 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2018 Based on some other threads, we booked a "whaler" from H2O Watersports for the afternoon. We had a GREAT time. A very good briefing on where to go, and where not to go. Boat was fine and performed well. They supplied noodles for swimming. We did not ask for snorkel gear. Website says they will supply bread for feeding fish, but they did not have any, but did give a small bag of frozen minnows. The fish seemed to prefer Doritos. :D We stopped in a couple of places to swim. Fed the fish. Cruised under the worlds smallest drawbridge. 4 hour rental for the boat was $201 with tax. Fuel charge (paid upon return) was $40 Overall, very recommended. Also, they have kayaks and Hobie Cat sailboats. Hobies are $60 for first hour, $10 for each additional hour. vacation44 Posted August 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2018 Thank you very much for posting your recent experience. This vendor is one of the ones we are thinking of using next May.
blue_water Posted August 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2018 We as a couple also thoroughly enjoyed our day in a Boston Whaler from H2O years ago. Nice-sized boat, great service, and a nice romantic day with the freedom we wanted. Highly recommend H2O for this particular day.
kccrzr Posted August 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Thanks for posting. We have rented a whaler for the first week in September and are happy to hear you liked it. Did you just take snacks with you or did you stop someplace for lunch?
blue_water Posted August 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2018 We stayed in a condo so we had food and drinks, but there are a couple places in Somerset Village or near H2O where you can buy stuff, I'm sure someone here can help with that. KDKSail is also a great resource for all things Bermuda on the Bermuda forum on Trip Advisor.
SRF Posted August 29, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted August 29, 2018 Thanks for posting. We have rented a whaler for the first week in September and are happy to hear you liked it. Did you just take snacks with you or did you stop someplace for lunch? We had the taxi driver stop at a shop near the exit for the Dockyard. Grabbed a couple of sandwiches and chips and a couple of small packs of Oreos (Oreos seem to go very well with boats :D ).. The fish liked the Nacho Cheese Doritos and Spicy Cheese puffs. :D
