So i can pack accordingly, what is the weather like in January?

In the morning it will be either 32 degrees or 72 degrees or somewhere in between. The weather forecast for New Orleans are usually pretty close temperature wise, not so precipitation wise. If you check the weather report before you leave to go to New Orleans you can usually get a pretty accurate idea of what the temperature wil be for the next week.
