redrobin Posted September 11, 2018 #101 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I got the offer and am past final payment. I'd like to purchase OBC to try and get the credit. On the Cruise Personalizer there are options to pre-pay gratuities, purchase casino credit, reserve specialty restaurants... What's the difference, can't generic onboard credit be used for all of those expenses? Thanks.

And for the items that you can't prepay, then buy OBC to make $750. It will be refunded if you don't spend it.

You cannot buy those pre-cruise with OBC.
cabinluvn Posted September 11, 2018 #105 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I just tried the online chat Amex customer service and I wasn’t able to get the offer for my delta gold card. Sent from my iPad using Forums A few times ago I had it on my card, my husband did not. I called and spent quite a bit of time on the phone with customer service and found that if an offer is not on the card, they cannot post it to the card...end of story Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
rocklinmom Posted September 11, 2018 #106 Share Posted September 11, 2018 This worked like a charm. I loaded the offer onto my AmEx, then made a $750 payment on my 2019 cruise on my cruise personalizer with it. I then got an email saying congratulations for using your AmEx promo, or something like that. Today (two days later) the $150 statement credit is on my account. Very easy and a great deal! CanICruiseSoonPlease Posted September 11, 2018 #107 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I called AMEX last night. I have Hilton AMEX (if that matters). The rep said, they ran out of the offers. True or not true? Does anyone have AMEX Hilton Honors card? Help before I book!!

Rare trbarton Posted September 11, 2018 #110 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I added the offer to my Blue Cash Card & had my T/A apply $750 to my upcoming cruise account. Today I received the following message from A/E “We appreciate you using your Amex Offer at Princess Cruises. You'll be rewarded with a $150.00 statement credit, which will automatically be applied to your statement if your purchase meets the offer terms.” When I look at my account I don’t see the charge or the credit. What has been other people’s experiences? Tom🤔

Rare trbarton Posted September 12, 2018 #119 Share Posted September 12, 2018 My account says “Pending” for my payment. Perhaps as others have said it will take a few days for the credit to show up. I’m also waiting for some credit for some printer ink that I purchased with a $15 credit. Tom😎
franktown Posted September 12, 2018 #120 Share Posted September 12, 2018 The offer was available on our Gold Amex. Bought the drink package for 2 with the card as we planned to purchase it anyway. Wasn't sure if we would get the credit or not. The charge of $965.86 was pending for 2 days. Today the charge is no longer pending and received a account credit of 150.00. Very happy and surprised. franktown Posted September 12, 2018 #121 Share Posted September 12, 2018 Forgot to add. Thanks to all who posted about this offer. Would of never found it myself as I usually do not look at AX offers. That has changed. Will look at least weekly.
Rare trbarton Posted September 13, 2018 #122 Share Posted September 13, 2018 YEA...I now have the $150 credit on my account. Thanks to everyone who posted about this offer. I used it 3x for this cruise & have now saved $350 that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Another big + for using CC. Tom😎

caribill Posted September 15, 2018 #124 Share Posted September 15, 2018 If you had multiple AmEx cards it used to be possible toget around an offer's "1 cashback per cardholder" limit through the "tab trick." Word online is that AmEx caught on and it's no longer a possibility. (I did an experiment and no, doesn't work.) What was your experiment that did not work? a) the offer showing but unable to add it to a different type card? b) the offer showing but unable to add it to the same type card in a different person's name? c) other?
