lexdisic Posted September 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2018 Hi All Off on Discovery soon. Can anyone tell me the brand of tea they have on board at the buffet and in the cabin. So used to Liptons or Twinings on cruise ships but prefer something stronger. Thanks in advance

davecttr Posted September 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2018 Also exotic types. I took a load of peppermint bags on Discovery only to discover they were standard in the buffet and Glass House.

yorkshirephil Posted September 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 8, 2018 Yorkshire tea needs to be made from Yorkshire water to be at its best:D
Cookiecookie Posted September 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 10, 2018 I only drink Yorkshire tea at home but it didn’t taste the same on board. I drank the breakfast tea instead.

Vitalsign Posted September 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Lexdisic - reason being that Yorkshire water is soft the same as in South Wales (not sure about North Wales) so if that's where you live you'll get a good brew whatever tea you drink - and no limescale in your kettle or iron either
lexdisic Posted September 11, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Lexdisic - reason being that Yorkshire water is soft the same as in South Wales (not sure about North Wales) so if that's where you live you'll get a good brew whatever tea you drink - and no limescale in your kettle or iron either We're mid Wales and our water is from a bore hole. Water board regularly check the quality and they say its the hardest they've come across in the area. Our kettle has to be descaled weekly tops - almost halves the time to boil when do - tastes gross when we dont. Even have to do the saucepans after boiling water/veg etc.
Vitalsign Posted September 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Oh dear what a palaver and the extra cost of descaling products you have my sympathy - so I suppose the ships water can't be any worse I love my tea strong and can still get it as I like it from Yorkshire Tea Decaf Enjoy whatever builders tea you can get your hands on and enjoy your cruise I'm off on Dream in 2 wks just checked in today can't wait for some good weather hopefully
