My wife and I were looking to purchase the refreshment beverage package, right now $18.00 per person, for our seven day cruise. The total came to almost $300.00, with a $45.00 service fee. Is this to cover tips or is this another service fee for the cruise line?

There is an 18% gratuity added on beverage packages.

 

If your drinks onboard stay under the package limit, you won't have to pay any more gratuity.

252 x .18 = 45.36

The deluxe alcohol drink package usually covers drinks costing $12 or $13. If your drink costs more than that, you will pay the difference plus 18% gratuity.;)
