pixiedust777 Posted September 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 19, 2018 How much is a taxi ride from the port? Not sure as we always walk from the port as our favourite cheese shop is on the way. It is a leisurely 20-25 min stroll. (Depends on how many things I stop to look at!!) I know the ferry from the port to the centre of the Boardwalk is $7U.S per person round trip and the dock is a five minute walk from HH. pixiedust777 Posted September 19, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 19, 2018 What months would you consider Season? I imagine April would be. High season runs from December to the end of April. Low season is from May to the end of November, with a surge in holidaymakers in July and August, which is also the warmest and wettest time of the year. pixiedust777 Posted September 19, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 19, 2018 End of April will be busy in 2019 as school break in St. Maarten coincides with Carnival's 50th Anniversary celebration, which runs from April 22nd- May 5th 2019. cruiser1715 Posted November 6, 2019 #15 Share Posted November 6, 2019 Are there other hotels on this beach that offers day passes?
Djsmrs Posted November 7, 2019 #16 Share Posted November 7, 2019 There are a million guy on the beach offering the chair/umbrella/drinks package -you won't have trouble finding somewhere to sit. The later you arrive the further back you will be from the beach. If you take the water taxi they'll all be standing at the end of the dock workin' hard to get your business. Take a breath. Take a moment. Look around at where you'd like to sit (near jet ski area? near swimming area? etc) and then go from there and find the "vendor" responsible for that section of the beach. Almost all sections of the beach have someone who will take a food order and deliver lunch to you - and drinks too.

Discretionary, but most don't. Usually for drinks, it's "keep the change" for a few dollars.
cruiser1715 Posted January 21, 2020 #19 Share Posted January 21, 2020 Update: after just leaving st Maarten. 1. I couldn’t get chairs at Holland house but it was easy to get from another vendor on the beach. 2. I would recommend the water taxi.
Maplemoose Posted February 14, 2020 #20 Share Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) Has anyone bought the $25 deal at Holland House? Does the 4 drinks include mixed drinks or just beer, soda and water? For us that will decide where we go. TIA Edited February 14, 2020 by Maplemoose spelling

Djsmrs Posted November 30, 2022 #22 Share Posted November 30, 2022 It's not a day pass as much as renting some chairs and getting a bucket of beers. We were there in April - and it was amazing.
