Oh wow yes, thank goodness I have one more week to get my overall junk together ;). Have soooo much fun!

Thanks, your itinerary is nearly identical to my December cruise aboard Adventure minus St. Kitts (eight nights vs your seven nights). Do you and Leslie have any excursions booked?

So excursion wise...we are booked with Alan’s tours in St Maarten for the 6 hour tour. In San Juan we are just headed to the forts on our own and in Labadee we just plan on hanging at the Suite class beach annnnd I have us booked for the zip line (hubby doesn’t know). Luckily he doesn’t read cruise critic :)

Your plan sounds similar to mine: no plans in Labadee (although a gentleman from our roll call invited me to hang out with him in his cabana at Barefoot Beach), self-guided tour in San Juan, Bernard’s Island Tour (#1) in St Maarten, and Thenford Grey Grand Tour in St. Kitts.

I have no experience with zip lines (trying one on Harmony next year for first time though), but a lot of people have reported that Dragon’s Breath zip line was a ton of fun on Labadee. I hope you guys have fun :)

You gotta do the Dragons Breath zip line and coaster and still time for cabana. Well worth it!!

Getting close now folks although I have to admit I'm not even close to being ready to go. One last day of work today and then I need to work on laundry, packing, stopping the mail, writing out a note for the pet sitting, do next week's payroll ya know nothing important at all :) Flight out of the ATL tomorrow at 1:50pm!

Joining in. We are doing the Ultimate Dining Package on our Halloween Cruise so will be interested to hear what you like.

We have the ultimate package booked too. Really wish we had the ability to book reservations ahead of time. Hoping we don't have any issues booking, as I really want to try all the specialty places at least once. Excluding the hibachi obviously.

One thing we have been weighing, especially on Oasis Class ships, is wether the cost of Chef’s Table is really worth it versus the Ultimate Dining Package. Chef’s Table is usually $85/person plus another $25/person for the wine pairing. But, that’s immaterial for Star Class Suites.

On Oasis last month, Chef's table was $95. For Star Class, it was $25. I think there was another "service charge" above the 18% and the total was $69.62 per couple.

We've actually not asked for anything special at this point other than reservations for restaurants. I'm with you on the crew food though. I've had some of the best Indian food of my life that came from ship crew areas :)

We aren't big snackers so we haven't really asked for anything special to be brought to the room food wise (yet.) We do hope to eat breakfast in the room a couple times and maybe one dinner on the last night depending on what we enjoy most on the trip.

We weren't either -- until our Genie had popcorn and Johnny Rockets milkshakes delivered every night at 8:30. :o

We had Chops delivered one night and boy it really looks like a lot of food when all the courses are delivered at once!! In order to keep everything hot, I would ask then to stagger the delivery by 30 minutes or so.

We have been to Chef’s Table a few times as Star Class passengers. We were only charged for the wine pairing once ($25/person). But, we don’t go anymore because the menu hasn’t changed in 2 years.

And we are off! (Aka how we almost missed our flight oops!)

So we left our home in plenty of time (about 70 mins to the airport) no lines anywhere so we had out first meal of the trip at the Atlanta Airport...

Sorry hubby destroyed his mushroom Swiss burger with mustard before I got my shot lol. My chicken/bacon sandwich was exactly as described but nothing special.

So now is where it gets interesting!! So we walk down towards our gate which I thought was A4 and it was crowded so we sat at another gate. But I could see the gate so no biggie. I made a couple phone calls, took selfies wondered why no one was boarding.

Finally hubby says let’s go pee then walk to the gate. Ok. So we walk back to A4 and it says Salt Lake. Puzzled. Hubby speaks up and says, our gate is A5. “You mean the one with NO people at it???” We jog down there and are the last people to board. Sheeesh! That has never happened to me. I guess I need a vacation.

An uneventful flight and a quick shuttle to the Rodeway Inn (which I must say is pretty much exactly what I expected.). After arrival we realized the bar drinks were going to be a little expensive for the whole evening so we took the hotel shuttle to the grocery store ($10 RT for 2) and now we are sipping our Winn Dixie wine and beer hanging out and getting ready for an evening swim!

That happened to me in São Paulo - I got to the gate early and they must have changed it at some point while I was sitting there. The difference in my story is that the time of the flight leaving from where I was waiting was similar to mine. I found out I was on the wrong plane when I tried to board. Luckily I made my flight!!

Looking forward to your review. It’s a nice break this week vs the President’s Cruise craziness!

Good Morning from the Rodeway Inn (home to the loudest window AC unit in history!). After a bit of a sleepless night we are up and waiting for our 10:30 shuttle. I’ll give the hotel props for this...

And in case it needed explaining...

Ha ha ha ha!

We met up with some fellow cruisers last night and ate dinner at the restaurant here at the hotel (I believe it was called Marina 84). Once again it was just ok and I’m saving up for cruise food :)

Hubby’s overpriced steak fajitas...

And my chicken Caesar salad...

Continental breakfast wasn’t worth photos, but they did have make your own waffles if that is your thing. I’m saving room for lunch at Chops!

Next stop check in for the Star Class!

Howdy folks!

I've been up in the air about "Live Reviewing" our upcoming Allure cruise but I never see enough food pictures and reviews for my liking so I thought I would take that general angle (since there is already at least one other person live reviewing out cruise.) This will be our first Star Class stay in room 1701 Owner's Panoramic Suite. (The casino made us an upgrade offer we couldn't refuse, there is no way we could have paid full price for this trip.)

Intros:

Me-Janet-41 years old, a true "foodie" I love to cook and try new things. Cruised on RCCL and Celebrity quite a bit growing up and this will be our 5th cruise out of 6 this year. I just got off the Celebrity Silhouette Norway cruise a couple weeks ago with my parents. We don't have kids and own our own business (Commercial Construction.) So we do get to travel quite a bit but the trade off is that sometimes we end up working during our trips. I also love NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. We live about an hour north of Atlanta in Cumming, GA on the lovely shores of Lake Lanier.

Husband-Leslie-55 years old and just turning into a cruise lover. He went on one a long time ago and said he hated it but I convinced him he "just wasn't doing it right" and now he really loves it. He's counting down the days more than I am. He's a former United States Marine and if you see someone in a USMC t-shirt it's probably him. His hobbies include cleaning the house, the car and working in the yard (It's a Marines thing.) He's already worried about leaving the cats (2 inside and 2 outside) but I assured him they will be just fine without him.

We were married on Christmas Eve 2016 but had lived together for 15 years before that and have actually worked together since I was a teenager. We are the odd couple that lives and works together and wouldn't have it any other way.

Our Genie is Susan and she contacted us a couple weeks ago. I'm pretty OCD and had already picked out most of our dining venues and times (I had made a spreadsheet-I'm that kind) so I sent it to her and she said she would set everything up. We fly down on the 29th with an overnight at the Rodeway Inn (I've heard mixed reviews but it looks like a fun place to spend the first night and has free shuttles.)

Dining plans include dinners at Giovanni's, Chops (2), Chef's Table, Coastal Kitchen (2), 150 Central Park and lunches at Chops, Sabor, and Izumi (2).

I can't wait to share our first Star Class experience with all of you!

Semper Fi, aunt of 2 marines. We’re on this cruise, too, looking at the Allure from our balcony at the Marriott Beach right now. Getting excited!
