brisco06 Posted September 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2018 We will be in Cartagena on the Viking Sea in November. The ship is in port until 10:00 p.m. Is there anything do to around the cruise terminal? Is it safe to walk around in the evening? or venture further? Any recommendations? FredZiffle Posted September 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Hopefully someone who knows more than I do will chime in. I do not recall anything in close vicinity to the port. Regardless, I don't believe Cartagena is a particularly safe place to be walking around after dark. Maybe the old town has a night life, and you could take a taxi over. scrapncruz Posted October 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2018 We were in Cartagena for a week in July for a wedding and found the city charming! Old Town is beautiful. We didn't stay in the Old Town but we took taxis constantly and always felt safe. It was very lively at night with lots of people. As in any city, though, just be aware of your surroundings. That said, I (a woman) walked around by myself often.
