Arriving at Lima, Peru airport after midnight

We will be coming into Lima from the US and arriving in the very early morning hours. Is it safe to take a taxi to our hotel in Miraflores? Any input, previous experience greatly appreciated.

Many this advice is too late, but I stayed the first night at the hotel directly across the street from the terminal. Maybe a 5 minute walk across the sky bridge to the front desk. I am guessing this is the United late late arrival from Houston.

We arrive in Lima late and have a flight to Cuzco (going to Machu Picchu) the next morning at 9am.   From research, I found that many people going to Cuzco just spend the night at the airport.   We didn't want to do that, so we are in the Holiday Inn that is about two hundred yards from the airport.

We arrived 2 nights ago  at 11pm and had prebooked with TaxiDatum. 

They answered emails promptly and our driver was waiting with our names on a sign.

vehicle was clean and our driver was friendly and pointed out sights on our way to Miraflores

We did use TaxiDatum to take us to Miraflores at 2am. Pre booked on their website. Everything was as promised, driver was waiting with our names on sign. Very nice man, no issues.

Uber is very good in Lima, though never went too far after midnight in one.  Some Uber cars were better than taxis, some were more worn
