We only had 6 hours in port. The Casa Dorada resort offers a day pass on a space available basis. We visited on a Sunday in October, the beginning of the season. The cost was 550 MXN per person, but this was applied as a food and beverage credit. Go to the front desk to inquire about the passes. The staff was extremely hospitable. The pools are great, but the beach area had chairs and umbrellas. There are staff there to more umbrellas as needed. We tipped the man $5 to get four chairs together with umbrellas. The area is roped off, so the hawkers on the beach are less of a problem. The beach is steep; 10 feet out and you are at 6'+ depth. It was a lovely day with lovely weather and we were pleased with how it all worked out.
