Woohoo. Just what I need to make the next 7 weeks seem not that far away until our turn. Question for you, I see you have a CLS this time. Have you sailed in an Owners Suite before? if so do you prefer one over the other? We upgraded to an Owners suite for no additional cost over what we paid for a Grand Suite. Cant wait!

Have a great trip.

Andrew likes to watch the Flowrider lines. CLS or SLS 🏄‍♂️

Love the new emojis

So what has happened since our last sailing?

I got a new lens for my Canon camera.

I’m starting to become a LTE version of CLR.  LOL, at least in the camera division. 🤣

So, what else has happened in our “family community” since our last cruise?  Not too much, just the normal daily stuff.

However, we did have something pretty big happen in our home town.  We had Kraft Hockeyville in our hometown.  What is Hockeyville you ask?  It is a weeks worth of celebration, around the greatest sport in the world.  That’s hockey if you didn’t already know.

Our town won a national contest back in March, after beating out 2 other towns in weekend long voting competition.  Over 9 million votes were cast and we won, a town of less than 2,000 people. By winning we recieved  $250,000 in arena upgrades, plus $10,000 in hockey gear.  We now have new boards, glass, scoreboards and audio system.  The rest will go towards upgrades which are already being planned for the near future. Our arena is going from 1958 to 2018 and it needed it.

Now fast forward to September of this year, the week of Hockeyville.  We actually changed our September cruise to this cruise, so we wouldn’t miss it.  School was held the entire week, but I’m not sure how much actually happened there.  Weekly events happened, from road hockey tournaments to past NHL players attending meet and greets - Lord Stanley’s Cup even came to town.

I was looking for the Maple Leafs, and all I found was the Flyers in the early 70s.

Better hide that Belkin.

Lisa thinks Im that guy already.  And the Belkin is for the Hotel.  The cabin has enough plugs, but there is no way I'm crawling under the bed at the hotel.:classic_ohmy:

We even have Kraft Ketchup bottles with Owen and Lisa on them.  Lisa did not approve of here's being posted.  Anything Kraft was being given away, left and right.

The celebrations ended with a preseason game featuring The Toronto Maple Leafs VS the Ottawa Senators. We were fortunate enough to win free tickets in a lottery to both the teams morning practices and the evening game which was televised nation wide.  That’s the only way you got to go, was by winning your way in.  Our arena might hold 1,500 in total on a good day, so we were extremely lucky. The rest of the community gathered in large tents to watch it at the ball park.

It was also the first game that John Tavares played as a Maple Leaf.  NY Islanders fans will already know about that drama.

The Leafs won.  First one down to becoming this year’s NHL Champs.

And now for the news on our neighbour’s house.  They still have just a hole in the ground, until this Monday. The wet weather has been holding back lots of construction around here.  They are still optimistic but it has been almost two months in a hold pattern, and cold weather will soon be knocking on the door. Hopefully, when we come back, we will see a foundation and some walls up. If they get more done in the week we are away, it will be a big week.

And we can’t forget about the obligatory Lucy photo taken over the weekend - Lucy the Queen of the closed pool, on the hunt for prey.

Owen is good as well.  School is going well.  Too much Fortnight can turn a boy’s brain to mush.

He has also been busy with cross country, placed 19th at regionals this year out of almost 100 runners, but wasn’t high enough to move on to finals.

His hockey is now in full swing. His team has played 4 games, has 3 wins and is working well together. Many of them have played together over the years and you can tell.  Owen is on the same path as always, with 3 goals and 6 assists. Expect some game updates on Friday and Sunday.

Andrew lost that info on the Alaska helicopter tours you took and the company you used...............All the info from those threads on the Float away Lounge were just trashed.

What was the company you used again? Looking for that tour that had more flight time.

We've already seen CLR's lens.  You'll need to post a similar picture for comparison.  Sounds like York is more than willing to be the judge.

Have a great cruise Andrew.

Following along!  I bet Owen was in 7th Heaven during Hockeyville Week!  And congrats to him on his cross country journey - I'm sure he will eventually make it to the finals - he seems to be so talented when it comes to athletic type things.

Owen arrived home tonight from school. We were happy to see a B+ on his French Test. He was also happy to know that we were picking up pizza for dinner.

He was sad to see our packed suitcases near the back door. He said, he was sad because we are going. I think it’s because he isn’t going with us.  Think puppy dog eyes.

20 minutes of us taking hockey shots on him, followed by Lisa and Owen taking shots on me made him feel better. I was a little tired.

Anyone with a hockey player will remember what pucks and drywall look like.

We were all in second heaven, the entire town.

As for Owen you are right, he is athletic.  He did make finals last year and placed middle of the pack. He also made finals in track and field for relay and 1,500 metre.  Hockey is from September to March and rep baseball and soccer are from May to August.  That gives us the month of April off.
