Now headed into LA but second night I out I got my first Royal Flush at Head’s Up Hold ‘em.  $24,575!  Nothing better than walking off the ship with no cruise bill balance and Benjamins In your bag.

Internet too slow onboard to post picture.  Just imagine a lot of spades, purple $500 chips, a glass of champagne and a big grin.

Best of luck, everyone!

Curious what happens..  😁 Does the dealer signal a waiter for champagne and just give you the chips? Or do they close the table while the Casino Manager gets emotional during his speech, the Captain is on the speakers, the ship's horn is blasting,  and a band marches around in the Casino?

Something in between I guess?

That's so awesome, great to see someone win the top prize!

Did they take 25% off of the top for taxes?  I ask because on my Sept. Getaway cruise, a woman hit the Lucky Ladies with dealer blackjack side bet on blackjack for $5,000 (even though it should have $25k had they not had a cap on the top payout) at my table and they took the 25% IRS withholding off the top.

Haha. Well they asked me if I wanted a drink and I asked for champagne. I was the only person at the table at the time but every single casino employee came over. They counted the rest of the deck several times. And, at first, got the math wrong on the pay-out, then corrected themselves. And it was announced inside casino, and I was told, on the Wake Show. I was a minor celebrity in a small pool for 4 days!

No taxes taken off the top.  I got the whole payout in cash. As soon as I got to LA, I went to a post office and got money orders to overnight to my bank (USAA has no brick and mortar branches).  We will see if I get a w-2g from Carnival Corp. like you do with a video poker jackpot.

Even better!  They typically issue the W-2G right then and there, so I would think you will not be issued .  For table games, it has to do with the odds payout over a certain threshold to trigger a W-2G.

For the Lucky Ladies hit that I mentioned, it was 1,000 to 1 odds.

I believe it is 600 to 1 that triggers the tax man.  Where are the rest of your chips?  You only have 17,000 in payouts in front of you.  Either way it is a great feeling for sure when a big bonus hits.

I just looked back at the picture and saw the shadow of the other stack of purples behind the first one, nice
