Boston thing to do - Tea Party

We had recently been to Boston and saw a number of the major sights and now on Oct. 20, 2018 we were stopping for a port visit.  Someone suggested going to the Boston Tea Party Museum and so we tried it.  (by the way, the Boston Childrens Museum is 100 yards away so you could easily add that in).

We picked up the city bus SL2 from right in front of the pier at the Design Center - you cannot miss it).  Paid the driver $2.75 each and we were off!  About 10 minutes later we entered a tunnel conplex (South Station), the end of the SL2 line (it only runs about 1.5 miles).  Side note - from here you can catch the Red Line subway for free to go into downtown and beyond.

We exited the station, up to the street and walked one block East and one South (the museum is in the middle of the river on Congress Street).  We waited a bit until the 10 AM opening.  Cost was about $27 for Seniors.  The "tour" took about 75 minutes and was very interactive, with video and live actors.  We even got to throw simulated tea boxes into the river!  There were just a few children on our tour and they loved it (so did I)!  Of course there is a gift shop and a small dining room.

Afterwards we headed back to the ship (purchased the return tickets from the machines before the turnstiles) - can use cash or credit cards.  Walked down to the bus level (plenty of signs for SL2) and in a few minutes we were off and back to the ship.  In all, it took us less than 4 hours.

Great tour fir the money and I learned alot about Boston and especially the Tea Party!
