Heads Up in N.O. around port

Major road construction around the Port of NO. Convention Center Blvd is now only 2 lanes. The road work extends from Poydras St to the far end of the Convention Center itself. Expect delays, allow extra time to get to port or parking garages. Hotels on Convention Center are also affected. I work at Harrah's Casino so I go thru it every day. I heard it will take about a year.

Thanks for the heads up, Plumbjim!  We are driving in from Biloxi, so this is great to know ahead of time!

Good to know!  Will we still be able to walk over from Harrah's hotel to the port?  

We usually just roll our suitcases over to the port by walking thru the parking lot at the end of the mall.

Yes you can, but that is one long walk, especially toting suitcases.

Great!  We will be back in NOLA next month for our 7Star trip and cruise. 

With good rolling suitcases we have done that walk several times in the last few years (and we are retired....lucky us!)   We just go from Harrah's hotel down Fulton street, then over by the malls parking lot and cross the tracks.  It gets us to our cruise faster than joining a long taxi line 🙂
