FranciscoFamily Posted October 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2018 We are new to Celebrity and have never cruised any of her ships. Thinking of an inside room for a California Coastal cruise. Which deck should we go for and why? Also would love to hear any and all feedback on the ship! thanks so much!!!
Rare chemmo Posted October 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2018 We love the Eclipse! We cruised on her for the third time last month. Her Captain(s) and crew are wonderful. I can’t comment on inside cabins specifically as we have never cruised in one. However, if you think of the central elevator as the easy access point to all areas you can’t go far wrong. Not only are you just up/down from all locations there is less motion too. Once you find a cabin you are interested in look at the reviews on it or ask again on here. For example, rooms near to staff doors/stairways can be noisy day and night, cabins under cafe areas can be noisy from very early morning.... Just an ‘an finally’ make sure you price up OV rooms and balconies too. They often come with perks like drinks packages which when you do the maths can work out worth considering... Hope you have a wonderful cruise!
gerelmx Posted October 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) I would choose a cabin that was oriented vertically instead of horizontal, these cabins have the bed on the back wall instead of the middle which makes more use of the available space. And I would choose an intermediate floor that at the top and bottom deck there are only cabins to avoid noise. Also choose one that is not in the main corridor, which have their own corridor this gives more privacy. Example the 7152, 7160 and 7174 or similar ones on deck 8. signman Posted October 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) My preference is a Cat 9 on Deck 9 or 10 aft of the forward staircase. Know also that the cabins on any deck aft of the forward staircase are a different configuration than the ones forward of this staircase. Those aft are more square in design and do not have a sofa. They have 2 chairs instead, and square footage is more, 202 I think. There is also more room to stand in front of the closet. The forward cabins are the same layout as all balcony cabins which shows as 174 ft in the brochure photos. You will not find a photo of the larger rooms with the 2 chairs. If you want to roll the dice choose 1032. Since the first deck plans for Solstice were published over 10 years ago this cabin appears oversized. I think it is in error, and surprised that it has never been corrected, but I've always been curious about it. We are going with an OV and getting some perks, it jsut made sense to do it...I think it is forward on deck 3, that was the cheapest pricepoint. Hope it's a good one! Any feedback on that? Thanks everybody! Edited October 28, 2018 by FranciscoFamily addition

Great inside cabins.

I do suggest you research your chosen room area to ensure it doesn’t have any issues....Hope that others who know the region of the ship respond. Stayed in 9260 and I agree. If you search you tube for 9256 you will find great pics. Yes, these cabins have 2 chairs instead of a sofa, but are roomier in my opinion. This is the same for all cabins aft of the forward stair case in the center of the ship. I would stay only on the decks above the public spaces. Sailor Taylor Posted October 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2018 How about cabins on deck 3? Celebrity website suggests a cabin on deck 3 for me.

Please take a look at the deck plans on the celebrity website. The are very few inside cabins on deck 3 and they are under the casino, which could mean noise. Personally, I always like a cabin that has cabins directly above it, below it, and on each side of it.
WallyNDiane Posted October 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted October 30, 2018 We just returned from the Oct 17 th sailing on the Eclipse. We had an inside cabin on deck 8. Our room was very quiet and was very convenient. 8164 to 8188 would be good choices. Room was fairly large, bathroom as well.
