mchelle77 Posted October 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2018 We're docked from 4pm to 10pm, so we really would love a beachfront restaurant with a view of the sunset - any recommendations?
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2018 For old San Juan, look at the restaurant on top of the Hotel Milano on Calle Fortaleza, a short walk from the pier. If you want a beachside restaurant, look up in Condado for La Vista or La Isla, both on the beach.
Stinger-pr Posted October 31, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2018 Although Punto de Vista (the restaurant at Hotel Milano) has great food, you won't get much of a sunset view at all. It's still on a lower elevation than the rest of the buildings to the west of it so there's no line of sight to the sunset. You'll have a partial view of the bay/docks, tough. I'm afraid that Old San Juan is not really "dinner with sunset view" friendly.

Rates are probably metered to these places from the cruise pier but pre-hurricane from Condado to the cruise piers was between $12-$15 one way. Stinger-pr Posted November 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2018 There are a lot of great restaurants in the Isla Verde/Condado, Old San Juan area that can easily be recommended. But for viewing the sunset, honestly, none come to mind. Here's the reason: Due to PR's location, the sun sets west to a bit south west. The beach/coast area that spans from Isla Verde beach besides the airport to El Morro fort curves north west. This means that almost everything is facing north, north-east, making a sunset view a bit difficult.

Rare Travelw Posted November 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2018 I agree with Oceano. We have eaten there twice, food was great and right on the beach. Dennis
paylady Posted November 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2018 For sunset views, we go to Oceano. If we remain in OSJ, then we choose Marmalade. We've been to both restaurants multiple times.

I got the package from island marketing and started at the beach then went up onto their roof top. I enjoyed my stay on their roof top right on the beach of Isla verde:)
