There is an error for groups on board:  19 July 2019 – 29 July 2019 : Baltic : Road Scholar Group

With the reshuffling of cruises, that departure no longer exists.

Starting July 13, the Zuiderdam has a transatlantic cruise - starting in Rotterdam and ending in Boston.

Thank you for providing this listing each month; I always look for MY cruises to see if they are affected! I also like how you slightly adjusted the format to show just dates under each ship's name. Makes it easier to read.

So now the cruise I'm booked on is one of the updates for a continuing education group. How much can I expect this group to impact the cruise?

If it's the Road Scholar group - not much. The group is usually under 40 - and the ones I've been on under 20. They will have a use of one of the meeting rooms in the morning on sea days. They eat early as a group in the MDR.

I think the Roads Scholars have groups on every cruise, even if they be very small ones.

They go pretty much unnoticed other than a desk set up out of the way.

Continuing Education Group is a medical group, type of University at Sea, where, I think, participants can earn credits to maintain their qualifications.  They are different to Road Scholar groups.

Are you on Eurodam May 11th - 18th?  This is an 'Allergy and Immunology Conference', in case you are interested!

I don't remember any negative reports being posted about this type of group on the board.  Remember, they are qualified professionals already.

Thanks. They definitely aren't the reason the Pinnacle Grill isn't available to reserve on our cruise for two nights then.

Don't usually go to Pinnacle Grill, the last one I was on - we spent 1 night at Canaletto on a 30-day cruise. Early seating MDR is normal.

Thanks for doing this!  We refer to it every time we plan a cruise.

I happened to notice that there are still some eeevil hyperlinks in the Word file. They're under groups, Nieuw Amsterdam. They were a little tricky to select and remove because they were non-continuous, but I managed to get them out of there for you.

Updated file is attached.  Also, if you want to have a version where the drydock table resizes for mobile screens, you can pick up the rich text on post #6 here:

Word doesn't pass along % width for table columns and cells during the paste operation, so the last drydock table winds up being wider than the screen.  I was able to force a fix using a different editor and bring the rich text into Cruise Critic.

Just start your copying after the line that says, TinyMCE Cleaned Up.  I didn't keep the red color because I assume those care changing next month.

Thank you for the updates.

I still don't understand why HAL is spending thousands and thousands of dollars on the Prinsendam when she is sold.  Waste on money.

I am convinced that the money paid for the dry dock is part of the selling contract. I know Phoenix Reisen (the German company for which the Prinsendam will sail in the future) and they still invest a lot in the ships themselves. Phoenix always invests long term. There is no focus on quick profits.

A somewhat large group (500 estimated guests) has just signed up (confirmed by our PCC) on the cruise we had booked, so we had to switch to a different cruise :(

Eurodam:
24 August 2019 - 31 August 2019 : Alaska : Moody Bible Institute (Inspiration Cruises Group)

I believe there are requirements and she is due for a drydock.  They can cut some things out, but certain things still have to be done.

And since we are sailing on her next year, I am grateful it is being done.
