Private Rotorua tours from Tauranga?

Should we take a private or the NCL ship tour to Rotorua from Tauranga?  Are there any recommendations or reviews of the following private tour companies?  Am I missing any?  Do we have to be concerned about getting back to the ship on time?

We went to Hobbiton, not Rotorua, on our last visit Tauranga visit. We used and thoroughly recommend Zealandier Tours - they do both Hobbiton & Rotorua, or can do each one separately if you prefer. Picked up right at wharf gate, and dropped back in plenty of time - all good.

We are using Zealandier Tours for our excursion to Rotorua on November 16th so glad to hear that you highly recommend them.

If you are concerned about getting back to the ship early they will drop you off.

Thanks, Mr Walker and Philip for the tips on the Zealandier and Arrow Tours.

 

Leigh, would you please report back on your Zealandier excursion to Rotorua on November 16^th.  We’d love to get your input.  Our cruise in is late January 2019.

We did the Rotorua tour with Arrow tours.They asked us when we would like to be back at the ship. I said I would like to back for the pool party at 3:00.

we were back about 1:30.the ship left a 6:00

Rotorua and the native village is a must.

Used CruiseTautranga.com last year for their Te Puia and Rotorua Geysers tour.  Our guide was great and really knew the area with lots of interesting facts.  Communication with them was excellent.  They picked up from directly outside the port gates and dropped us back with lots of time to spare.

I have used Jim Archer tours and I can highly recommend them.  They are very professional.
