We are thinking of a beach day here on Feb. first..have seen many lovely pictures, but very few people in the water. We enjoy being in the water a lot, is it rocky or have a strong current?.....maybe people just prefer to relax....how is the swimming...thanks๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ

The water is fabulous and while there are a few bits of broken coral in certain areas the vast majority of it is lovely sand. Calmness usually 99.99% guaranteed but you can never be 100% if we get some Northern Swells ๐Ÿ™‚

just got back fromย  the 10/27 Summit sailing to grenada, went to umbrellas at Grand anse beach and it was beautiful-the water was great-no rocks and calm.ย  Loved it!

From what I can tell, Umbrellas restaurant is somewhat set back from the water (with a parking lot in between?).ย  Do you have to go up to the bar/rest. for drinks or do they have runners on the beach.ย  What is the condition of their loungers (cushions?).ย  TIA

yes you have to go up to the restaurant to get food and drinks.ย  no loungers on the beach for rental around here that I saw.ย  the water is beautiful though so you can sit at the restaurant and run down for a swim. There are loungers closer to where the ferry dropped people off but it was crowded there and this section of beach was basically empty!

There are loungers but the guy may need a little searching for as he covers the area from Umbrellas down to the edge of Camerhogne Park. When you get there ask a local where you can rent a lounger ๐Ÿ™‚
