Princess “ BEST PRICE excursions guaranteed “

Hello,

Do Princess Cruises really have best priced excursions, or is it just a marketing hype to get you to book though them?

Previously when we have cruised, princess never had that offer and we found it much cheaper to book independently, unsure what to do for our upcoming NZ cruise?

Being time poor, I don’t want to spend hours researching excursions if princess excursions are price competitive, plus you have the peace of mind of knowing you won’t be left behind if the tour is late.

Any advice appreciated

I usually book private tours and that is because I prefer to tour with 6 to 8 people rather than a bus of 40. Plus I like the idea of being able to custom my tour.

That said, in general, I don't believe they are price competitive.

As an example, we just returned from Australia.

In Albany, Princess offers this excursion

With some research and emails, I learned that Busy Blue Bus offered essentially the same tour for AUD$50.

The big difference is that we were early off the ship to get our tickets (and had some time to kill in town) and good thing we did because the two mini-buses they ran sold out.
