Rare LewiLewi Posted November 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2018 We are looking at a cabin on Deck 8 which is above a large white space on Deck 7. This area is starboard side beteeen the King's Court and the Lounge forward of it. Any idea what this area encompasses?
Underwatr Posted November 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2018 Just aft of the B lifts, below 8061-8067? I think that may be scullery (dishwashing area) but I'm not 100% sure.
Rare LewiLewi Posted November 7, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted November 7, 2018 Sorry, between the Carinthia Lounge and Canyon Ranch Spa Club. Cabins 8029 to 8037.
Bigmike911 Posted November 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2018 White spaces on deck plans indicate crew areas. It could be a kitchen, pantry, or passageway. There are crew only areas on most decks. On the accommodation decks they could be steward/butler pantries, lifts or mechanical spaces.

The white space to the starboard of the area marked "BAR" is kitchen area for preparing the Small Plates served in Carinthia Lounge, including the buffet counter where they are served. I don't know how far it extends forward but there may be scullery space in that area as well. I believe the space just forward of the bar is a crew elevator and stairs. You can see that it's blank on the deck plans on all decks.
majortom10 Posted November 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2018 I never book a cabin either next to or above or below white spaces because of the unknown what is there and possible noise. We learnt a very hard lesson on QE2 when we booked a cabin near to a white area and in early hours heard numbers being shouted out and thought I was dreaming before realising it was a staff area and they were playing bingo. Rare LewiLewi Posted November 8, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted November 8, 2018 Thank you all for your replies. We will probably wait and see what other cabins are available.
MCC retired Posted November 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2018 (edited) I would not worry so much about a crew area below you , but would choose a Deck 8 cabin with at least a glimpse of the sea between life boats , like 8035 in OP's area.
