VAT stamp

Dear Fellow Cruisers:

 

Does anyone know how to make up for the missing VAT stamp? I missed stamping on my VAT form for my pearl purchase when leaving the French Polynesia? The store there have my tax withheld and will charge me if they don't receive a stamped VAT form.

I had this happen about ten years ago.  The maid in our room mistakenly threw out my documentation.  As I remember, I found the phone number or email of the store where I purchased the pearls, and they sent me forms to fill out.  Don't remember any more details, but it can be done!

Thanks Wendy! Did you then send the filled forms to the French Polynesia Custom to be stamped?

I can't remember, I think so.  I followed the advice they gave me, and that was probably what happened.  At the time I was ticked, believe me, but it worked out.
