Taxi from Laem chabang

Just need a bit of help with deciding what is best,. We arrive in laem chabang on our cruise and didnt want to go to bankok so looked for alternatives to do...found an elephant sanctuary to visit in pattaya , they have a head office in pattaya then the sanctuary is just on the outskirts. So begins my dilemma..how easy is it to get a taxi from the port to the office in pattaya.then how easy is it to get a taxi back from pattaya to the port. Or am i better hiring a taxi all day to take me to the sanctuary and wait till i am finished to take me back.
