Princess transfer or Private Car Service

We were just quoted $119 for transportation from the airport to the cruise port.  Princess is doing the transfer for $58.  Has anyone had any experience with the Princess transfer service?  We are concerned due to a recent operation and ease of using the bus/van to the ship.

Anytime we have used Princess transfer to/from the airport, it was a big bus. We look for the Princess signs outside the arrivals area. They collect everyone from your flight and direct you to the bus. Bus dropped us right at entrance to port building.

If you cannot climb up the steps in a tour bus, use a private shuttle.

 

$119 seems very high for LAX to San Pedro.  A private Super Shuttle Van would be about $86.

Easy choice for us, a private vehicle for a lot less money, including an SUV. Since I don't take shuttles of any kind, I can't recommend them.

Was there a specific West Coast port you were interested in ?   Vancouver? Seattle?  San Diego?  San Francisco ?

We  drive directly to the cruise port of either  San  Diego &  park across the street  in public parking  or if we are sailing from San Pedro ,we drive up the night before & stay over at either the  Double Tree hotel on the Harbor or  Crown Plaza hotel ,where we park for free for the entire cruise .Nice to get a night in early with  breakfast the next AM  & a free R/T shuttle to the cruise port ;which is very close by
