KruisingKaren Posted November 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2018 I assume it's not the safest thing to leave your cellphone, key card and money on the beach while you swim?
grsnovi Posted November 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2018 This was recently discussed here. A lot of us use a water-proof container/envelope that you can wear around your neck.
cat shepard Posted November 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2018 (edited) And now they even have ones that float, in the event the neck cord breaks open. And we were able to take pictures through the clear plastic, and the quality was surprisingly good, too. Edited November 21, 2018 by cat shepard Misspelled word. TAD2005 Posted November 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2018 And Hefty Bags from your market are definitely not waterproof.
CherryG Posted November 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2018 We just take turns going in the water. One minds the beach bag while the other swims.

Well, I don't take my cellphone ashore (it stays in the safe onboard). I do have a waterproof camera that stays strapped to my wrist. I also wear a waterproof watch so that someone can keep track of the time. Key cards & money (as well as credit cards) can all get wet and still can be used. My husband puts his in a pocket in his swim trunks. I use a time-honored place of concealment for us ladies.
beba Posted December 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2018 I use a beach safe. It is secured either strapped to your beach lounge chair or your umbrella (only if it's cemented into sand). Amazon has them, not expensive.
Rare Mary229 Posted December 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 14, 2018 Thanks for the suggestions. I am not usually a beach person so I hadn’t considered this.
Djptcp Posted December 15, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 15, 2018 We take turns going in the water. I tend to swim a lot more than DH - he can usually be found snoozing under the clam shell
Snowesha Posted December 15, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2018 I was solo on a cruise a few years back and just left me stuff in my bag on my chair under my towel. Just kept sight of it when I was in the water. No problems. But I left phone and credit cards on ship in safe.
