Crazydancemom Posted July 30, 2019 #3127 Share Posted July 30, 2019 One of our 2 rooms just upgraded from interior to spacious balcony. We’re on Anthem 8/1. Spacious balcony was minimum $180pp and we bid $200pp. We have 3 in that room so it was a great upgrade for $400. 3

DonnaMW Posted July 31, 2019 #3130 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Got my upgrade bid email a few weeks ago for aug 19 sailing. Have interior guarantee and not assigned yet. No interiors available on website so I decided to wait. Yesterday. Balcony guarantee went down to exactly what I paid for interior. Got it changed. My guess no one bidding.

If this is for Mariner, I'm in an Aft Balcony and bid on the GS & 2br GS. Haven't heard back yet, but no biggie, the aft balconies are huge anyway.....I got an unbelievable casino rate for this one, so I'm guessing I won't be close. Ready2SailAway Posted July 31, 2019 #3134 Share Posted July 31, 2019 I wanted to readdress a question that was only briefly touched upon earlier in this string... Does anyone know RCCL's decision criteria for choosing the winner in case of a RoyalUP bidding tie? e.g. Earliest bid? Amount paid for stateroom upgrading from? Crown & Anchor total cruise points? Exactly the amounts...w/ JS at $100pp. Casino Rate was under $1k for the three of us in a balcony. 2br bid I did was still less than our rate prior to casino discount for the balcony. cured Posted August 1, 2019 #3140 Share Posted August 1, 2019 (edited) Just received our confirmation. Oasis of the Seas - 8/8 1A (deck 7 aft) ---> L2 $100 over minimum. Gave up direct ocean view and some privacy for the 2 bathrooms and double the space, which with our 2 adult children is well worth it. Put in bid on 7/28-Sunday (11 days before sailing,) received confirmation today. Bid awhile ago, cancelled, and then decided I really did want to try a bid. So, absolutely sure I was too late, put in a very weak bid over the weekend. Buh Bye Key Edited August 1, 2019 by cured
booplesnoople Posted August 1, 2019 #3141 Share Posted August 1, 2019 After a little while lurking in this thread, I can't wrap my head around something. (Maybe I'm slow on the uptake. Probably. ......Definitely.) This probably got answered a hundred pages ago, but here goes. Someone help me out on the pricing scheme here. So, hypothetically, if I place a bid on a JS (currently OVB) for $200pp, is that going to be $400pp flat, or $200pp per day of the cruise? What am I really bidding here? (My sail date is a ways off, trying to figure out how much I'd be paying before RCI starts tempting me with extra legroom!)

StlGal Posted August 2, 2019 #3144 Share Posted August 2, 2019 I still can't figure out this new site and how to search within a thread. UGH! As a result, without flipping through all 126 pages of this thread (I've already flipped through 50+) and didn't see the question or answer for this... maybe someone can help me? Has anyone ever bid on and been upgraded to a Genie suite? We are currently in CLS and have bid for SLS and ATS. I have heard that they don't notify you until the last minute and I'm wondering how this would work with the Genie suites as I know that the Genies usually contact you 1 - 2 weeks ahead of time to get preferences, etc. Also would be concerned with cancelling our meal and drink packages in time to get credited if or when (fingers crossed) we get upgraded. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks! Angie

At the top right-hand corner of this webpage click on "Search", then in the popup window select "This Topic" under SEARCH IN, then just type the word or phrase you want to search for and press the <Enter> key on your keyboard (or click on that little magnifying glass next to where you typed your search word/phrase). cured Posted August 2, 2019 #3148 Share Posted August 2, 2019 (edited) 5 hours ago, Casino Comp Chick said: What was your minimum? It was a little high at $750 per person. We bid $1600. But being able to get rid of $500+ for the Key brought it down to reasonable range for us especially since we already had a great deal on the Family Balcony cabin. The additional bid still made the CL suite for 4 adults a heck of a good price and still thousands under what I had originally priced them when I first booked. I am a little sad to give up my ocean view balcony as that is one of my favorite parts of sailing, but since it is such a port intensive Med cruise, we won't be spending a whole lot of time on the balcony. On our one sea day, I figure I will just go to the suite deck and find a chair overlooking the ocean. I really, really, REALLY did not think we would win our bid with it being only 11 days from sailing, an extremely weak bid, we had a bargain (I have been watching the prices for 18 months) on our original cabin, and the ship showing sold out for awhile now. Was I ever surprised to get the email yesterday. I want to thank whomever must have put in a really strong bid for the Ultra Spacious Ocean View with Large Balcony! Sorcerer Tim Posted August 2, 2019 #3149 Share Posted August 2, 2019 Are the bid prices per person only applicable to the first two people or is it per person for the number of people in the cabin?
