WOW!  The fact that you found out this early is awesome!  Most I'm seeing aren't finding out until a few days before cruise.

We are sailing on 12/2 on Serenade, couldn't even check in yet, so cannot bid.

Were you able to check in early for your cruise?

Did you try the direct link

I can't check in for my Symphony cruise because something with Royal's IT department is broken (big surprise, eh?  I can check in just fine for my cruises right before and right after it, just not that one), but I *can* do a RoyalUp bid on that cruise without being checked in.

I'm within 30 days and I still get the message "Please ensure your sailing is within the next 30 days. Please ensure there are no errors in the information you entered" Does that mean I'm not eligible?

Sounds like it.  Have you checked to see if there are many rooms available above your category to bid on?

Here's a question... if you're solo and doing a RoyalUp bid, do you pay double the bid amount?

On the RoyalUp page, it says "per guest (2)"... so which is it, per guest, or two?

My logical brain says that what they MEAN to say is that it's "per guest up to two, so additional guests (3rd and 4th) are at no additional charge".... but this is Royal, which means that what they say on their website could mean any possible interpretation of the words.

I have found out recently that your eligibility to bid a Royal Up depends on whether the agency you booked through "participates" in the Royal Up program.  If you booked direct with RRCL you would/should be eligible to bid.  I know many of the "big box" store travel divisions do not participate in the program.

I get the same thing... but I think I angered them by changing my bids.. constantly.😌

My sailing is 12/12 and I can't check in either.  However, I did get a RoyalUp email.  I was surprised.  I didn't expect one until after checkin or  final payment.

So excited! Bid just over minimum on a grand suite on a 3 day Mariner Cruise leaving Friday and found out yesterday we did get it. We have new cruise docs already. Thanks to all on this thread that helped me figure it out. If anyone could tell me what perks they value most I’d appreciate it!

If you checked in earlier when others checked in they are honoring those check in times.

I was on vista and didnt have wifi, now will be on breeze when it reopens. I hope they assign a time not 3 pm.

From sea to shining sea got 1230 check in, the first slot.

I made final payment before I got on vista not knowing during my cruise they would extend dec final payments.

No suite royal up offers for me, junk. Lol

I got the same response for a cruise that is less than 30 days from sailing. I am wondering which ship and sail date you are getting the response from. I am getting it for my November 8, 2021 Anthem cruise which was changed from a 7 day down to a 6 day. Like you there is a rather large inventory of rooms matching and exceeding my room category.

Oh good, I had checked in and got a 12:30 check in time. Hopefully those things are kept but if not I'll try and get checked in on the 28 of Oct..

ljk76,  Congratulations!  I'm waiting to hear about upgrades on our Oct 25 sailing on the Freedom.  Have bids in on JS, GS 1 br and GS 2br. Currently booked in an aft view obstructed balcony.  I hope my luck is as good as yours 😃.  Love the Mariner, but have never sailed in anything above a JS.  Enjoy your trip!!

We got a post card from the casino people offering a free cruise thru the end of the year.  Wife gambles very little on each cruise.  Saw a 4 day on Independence out of Port Canaveral.  It was for an interior.  So, I called and asked how much an upgrade to Balcony would be.  They said about $100/person.  I said yes.  When they sent me the confirmation, not only had they comped the interior but also the upgrade to the balcony.  Paid only the port taxes and gratuities.

Our upgrade bid last month for the Ovation out of Alaska for 7 nights got us a 2 bedroom GS for about $500/person.  Great, great trip and suite experience.

The same company that does the upgrade bids for Royal does them for MSC.  Last week we scored a Yacht Club balcony for 4 night for a couple hundred per person.  So, I am loving this bid thing.

So, about two weeks ago, this Independence cruise allowed me to bid.  I checked with fake bookings to see how many suites were available.  Only the 1 Bedroom GS had any real supply.  They allowed me to bid on 4 suite types all the way up to Royal Suite.  I bid about $40 over each minimum.  Yesterday, I noticed that all bids had 'expired' except for the 1 bedroom GS which is still 'pending'.  This is how my prior two successful bids behaved.  I had bid $210/person.

This seems to all be happening much earlier than my prior two bids.  Indeed, it almost seems as tho they make several 'runs' thru the bids and that there is not simply one final, highest bid decision.

So, here is to hopefully actually getting a GS for $210 up from a free casino cruise.

Congratulations and enjoy!! H and I are on this cruise & thought about putting in a bid, but we're trying to keep this one as cheap as possible since we have the Oasis cruise on 12/12 with our son & his GF, so we'll be spending all our money then, lol
