Galveston Hotel near the Cruise Terminal

Last time we cruised out of Galveston, we drove and stayed for a couple of days before the cruise at a hotel along the Seawall.   This time, we’ll be flying in the day before the Sunday departure of the LOS and without the use of our car, would like suggestions for a hotel closer to the Cruise Terminal.   Thanks for your help.

Tremont Hotel in Old Town Strand and is beautiful European style hotel . Full Service .

Harbor House at Pier 21 limited service but restaurants all around .

Only  two hotels at port near terminals .

Harbor House on water and can watch ship right outside window arrive in early morning. And both in walking distance to terminals . And both have transfers to terminals in case weather is bad .

I checked both of those hotels for our trip in February and they require a 2 night stay. I'm guessing you can pay for 2 nights, but it's going to be over $400 for one room. I booked a night at the Four Points instead. I used hotel points, but it was around $225. It's about a mile away,  yet close to many attractions, and they have a free shuttle to the pier.

Did you call the hotel or just check online? For others reading this, sometimes these hotels will book for one night if you call directly. Not always the case, but it's worth calling.

Galveston is a major tourist destination .

Situations affecting lodging rates are

Lone Star Motorcycle Rally

Dickens on Strand

Mardi Gras

Feather Fest (birding)

Many Smaller festivals , fun runs and etc.

Large Conventions at two convention centers

Weekends with great weather for day trippers
