It usually goes down after final payment  if the  cruise is  not selling well 

sometimes  the prices  may even go up

 Pick a price  that works for you  & if it goes down before   ..bonus  if not  then just  enjoy the cruise

There's a chance it goes down, but there is no rhyme or reason (unless its not selling well).  Booking further out may allow for a drop.  I booked 2 connecting balconies on my 2020 sailing and the price dropped about $100 per cabin.  I booked a tad higher than i wanted to for this spring break cruise and hoping for a couple more drops but I just adjusted my budget for the higher  price and if it drops within my original budget, I'll have extra spending money or leave it there to start the saving for my next one.
