Another South Beach Sunburn and some wagu sliders with charcoal buns before heading out of S Bar... I tell ya, Miami is not exactly for the faint of wallet. These two drinks and two small sliders ran me upwards of fifty bucks... But, what the heck, it's vacation!...

I finally made it back around to the place I intended to start out at 4:00... SoCal taco in Brickell... The best cocktails in Miami ( and won't cost you an arm and a leg, plus your first born)

First up, the SoCal special. Reposado tequila, lime juice, with salted Cointreau foam and toasted orange.

For you NCL regulars who are not aware, this is the place where the grass clippings drink at the tobacco road bar originated. The owner of SoCal taco, Leo Holtzman, ( formerly of the original Tobacco Road in Miami) set up the bar program on the Escape when it first sailed from Miami. This little taco stand in Brickell is what I consider the premiere drinking spot in all of the city and beach area here...

I present to you, the original Grass clippings...

Following along as we are cruising on the Bliss in March.  This is my first time reading one of your reports and I am loving your writing style!  I tried the Grass Clippings twice on the Escape.  First time I hated it but tried it one more time as I thought maybe it just had not been made properly the first time.   Nope,  hated it just as bad the second time!

I don't know what it is, but no matter how much I eat and drink in Miami I can never get "full or drunk" ... I've spent approximately $180 so far and I feel okay, but when I think about how much I've spent already, I should be tore up from the floor up by now...

I'm drunk just reading it & looking at the photos!

Hi Wilson!  As usual, I am loving your Trip Report!  Re:  Grass Clippings...I ordered that drink on the Escape (10/20 cruise / Tobacco Road).  It was good, but there were truly grass clippings in my drink!  I am not sure what they garnished it with, but even with a straw, I had to check my teeth with a mirror to make sure the "Grass Clippings" were not in my teeth!  LOL!  Yup...I love my straws!

Enjoy and following 🙂

Hi - Enjoyed your last 2 Carnival reviews, especially appreciated your honesty. Following along to see what you think of the Bliss as the reviews I have read lately have been less than positive. Bliss is a beautiful ship and staff was great so it is disappointing to see. I also stay in the Brickell area as well but that is so i can go to an Irish Restaurant, Fado, (there is 1 in Atlanta too) they have a great Irish Breakfast. Had it 2 weeks ago~ yum.  Have a wonderful cruise!
