PAMJP Posted December 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2018 We've sailed Cunard before on all three Queens, but this will be our first Christmas voyage. Is the Gala evening Christmas Ball on Christmas Day any more formal than other gala evenings? My husband will be wearing his tuxedo and I will wear a long dress but is there more of a theme? Thanks for any information you can give. Pam
Underwatr Posted December 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2018 I wear a less-formal, Christmasy bow tie but otherwise it's pretty much the same. I've seen women wear their most stunning gowns either on Christmas or New Year's Eve so you might want to open around that.

Underwatr Posted December 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2018 Oops: "open" --> "plan." But I suppose you figured that out.
EuroFan Posted December 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) I guess I will be underdressed so I hope I am not the only one 🤞 I only have two dresses and they are both short 😊 Looking forward to admire everybody else though! Radar boomer Posted December 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2018 We just got off QM2 and I saw more shorter dresses and pant with nice tops vs gowns this time...as noted maybe more at Xmas, but expect not all gowns.
maggiemou Posted December 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Christmas and New Year you will see some outstanding dresses. More glizt and glam. You can really go for it as you are never overdressed on Cunard. Christmas is the ultimate time to dress up. Glizy sparkle. Full length dresses stunning!
