Best Cabin Location

The aft staterooms are my favorite for the following resons:

  • no wind so you can spend lots of time on your balcony while the ship is moving
  • very little foot traffic
  • short elevator ride to the Room Service kitchen so delivered food is not cold
  • short elevator ride to dining rooms
  • you can see what is on both sides of the ship without moving from side to side and competing for space at the railings
  • the sound of the ship's wake is good for sleeping
  • very little noise unless you are directly under a public deck

Obviously others my disagree.

Where the room service kitchen is located is going to vary by ship.

Agree forward balconies (only a small number of ships have bow facing balconies) will be windier, and thus less tenable. Also agree aft balconies are better, and frequently in high demand.
