Wilson Posted December 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2018 On Navigator, Vision and Liberty we received complimentary lunch in Chops as suite guests. I think Liberty might have been Giovanni's. They recently reduced the Ultimate dining package to $126 during Black Friday, but we passed since we "assumed" we were already getting comp lunch in Chops. Got my "welcome" email from concierge for next weeks sailing and no mention of the comp lunch. I emailed and he said it's not offered on Freedom. Well crap! Had I known this we would have purchased the Ultimate dining when it was on sale.
Rare John&LaLa Posted December 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2018 You've been lucky. I've never seen comp lunch for suites on any ship. Just breakfast
Wilson Posted December 5, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted December 5, 2018 I guess so. We take advantage of the breakfast if we get up early enough. LoL
George C Posted December 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2018 Should have sailed on oasis suite restaurant was great for all meals we had lunch and breakfast there daily, really sucks how inconsistent rccl is , we had free lunch on all our navigator and liberty cruises, hope you have no more disappointments and hope we sail together again.

CK is a different animal. According to Michael Bayley during President Cruise, Oasis can have a suite dining experience because of a much higher price structure. Older, smaller ships have lower prices and tighter margins
George C Posted December 5, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2018 We have done navigator 3 times starting in 2014 and liberty twice and had suite lunch in all , I believe rccl had lunch listed for perks for voyager and freedom class at least they used to. Even had a suite dinner with officers in 2014 navigator lunch was only on sea days though , only lunch on embarkation we had was last year on navigator. On Freedom you could eat in Portofino/Giovani but it was the food you grabbed in WJ. Not off a menu.
George C Posted December 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 5, 2018 The lunch last year was full menu for chops, previous cruises it was a very limited menu chicken , steak or seafood entree, not normal menu , again will try to find email from concierge that may have detail. On our first suite cruise chops had no normal lunch so that was only choices , and you could also bring in food from windjammer.

Rare twangster Posted December 5, 2018 #14 Share Posted December 5, 2018 Golden rule - if you see a real deal in the CP, buy it. You can always refund it a week later if you change your mind.

HicksRA Posted December 5, 2018 #16 Share Posted December 5, 2018 We were on Liberty in September and lunch and breakfast was served in Giovanni’s for suites and Ps. I was dumb to assume they just served Windjammer food in there to save suite guests from the chaos, but surprised when I finally decided to eat there on the last day to discover it was delicious food from Giovanni’s menu. I’ll know better next time.

It's 25 days away from 2019 now. Seems to have never gotten much traction other than Liberty.

Not off a menu. That is the way it was on the Liberty on embarkation day when we sailed in May 2018. We put our stuff down in Giovanni's Table and went through the buffet line and brought our food back to Giovanni's to eat it. And, once the Windjammer had no seating, they handed out tickets to non-suite guests so they could sit in Giovanni's Table. We only got the cooked to order lunch as a suite guest on the sea days.
