Blue Chip Offering - TOO GOOD TO PASS UP!

So yesterday at 6pm we (Full disclosure;My husband is the gambler) receive an email from Blue Chip Club regarding Celebrity Edge sailings;Either 12/16 or 12/23 Veranda stateroom - get this -COMPLEMENTARY!!!  We had to read the email several times to make sure it was correct. Reason being is that we have not sailed on Celebrity since 08/17 and ALL Blue Chip offers this year have been %off and $250 or $500 additional off the cabin. We have not received a totally comped Blue Chip offer this year at all! 

 

So of course we called immediately and booked one of the LAST THREE Infinity Verandas on the 12/16 Edge 7 Nt. Eastern Caribbean Cruise!

To complicate matters we are ALREADY SCHEDULED on a Christmas holiday trip to Costa del Sol, Spain departing 12/23! Our flight on the 23rd departs NY/JFK  at 5:45pm. This is a long planned immediate family trip for Christmas/New Years and we were afraid that disaster could ensure and we would miss our flight to Spain if we came home and departed the same day.

 

We decided that we are going to disembark 2 DAYS EARLY at the last port stop of St. Maarten on Dec. 20th, which would give us enough of a cushion not to worry about missing the family Christmas trip. The last piece of this puzzle and quite frankly the 2nd most important piece was AIRFARE. How much is this going to cost; flying to FLL from NY less than 7 days out AND returning from the Caribbean island of St. Maarten on the 20th? Well wouldn't you know Jetblue saved the day. Our RT fare, booked less than a week from departure came to $469/rt/pp!

 

Everything is all set, including getting pre-authorization to disembark 2 days early (The technical term is Downlining and it actually costs an additional $65/cabin admin. fees). I will definitely try to take as many photos and will do a trip report as live as possible! Christmas(A Hanukkah gift perhaps?) came early for us!

Congrats! I received this offer as well in addition to a similar offer last week for the 3-day preview and inaugural cruises!  Unfortunately, I need an accessible cabin and this close to sailing there were none. 😞
